Abstract Previous studies showed similar spatial orientation ability (SO) between real world (RW) and virtual reality (VR). As the SO deteriorates with age, it is crucial to investigate whether degradation in VR, as may affect use of VR tools for older people, such physical therapy. Therefore, we extended our previous study, which RW was measured younger participants (18–35 years) a higher age group (> 55 examine VR's influence on their SO. Two main tests were conducted. In first test, blindfolded, asked rotate (0°, 45°, 180°, 225°) fixed starting position, walk straight different objects they had memorized before. This test conducted twice. An ANOVA only revealed significant interaction factors Age (young/old) Condition (VR/RW) 45°-rotation second run. Here, both groups performed similarly RW, while greater deviations appeared. Nevertheless, overall Age*Condition-interaction not significant. subjects required blindfolded two from positions. The position changed three times each condition but equal VR. No interactions found ( p > 0.05). Both groups, supporting usage regardless age.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR) technologies into agriculture presents a transformative opportunity to modernize education sustainable food production. Traditional training remains resource-intensive, time-consuming, geographically restrictive, limiting scalability. This study explores an AI-driven Digital Twin (DT) system embedded within gamified XR environment designed enhance decision-making, resource management, practical in viticulture as well woody crop management. A survey among stakeholders the viticultural sector revealed that participants are increasingly open adopting Virtual (VR) combined with AI-enhanced technologies, signaling readiness for digital learning transformation field. The 4.48/7 willingness adopt XR-based training, 4.85/7 interest solutions precision agriculture, moderate climate change concern of 4.16/7, indicating strong transformation. Our findings confirm combining AI-powered virtual educators DT simulations provides interactive, real-time feedback, allowing users experiment vineyard management strategies risk-free setting. Unlike previous studies focusing on monitoring or AI-based decision support, this examines potential Twins (DTs) personal assistants improve overall productivity agriculture. Proof-of-concept implementations Unity Oculus Quest 3 demonstrate how NPC can personalize simulate adaptation strategies, stakeholder engagement. research employs design-oriented approach, integrating feedback from industry experts end-users refine educational applications DTs Furthermore, highlights proof-of-concept using cross game engine platform, showcasing environments where students interact simulated settings. innovations support farmers enhancing yields play important role educating next generation farmers.

This study investigates the transformative potential of Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended (XR) technologies in education, with a particular focus on design implementation MetaCBU virtual campus at Manisa Celal Bayar University. The primary research objectives are to examine how immersive VR platforms can enhance traditional educational methods by increasing student engagement, motivation, collaboration, identify technical pedagogical challenges involved their development. leverages advanced replicate extend capabilities physical campuses, providing experiential learning opportunities that otherwise difficult achieve conventional classrooms. Key challenges, such as optimizing system performance mitigate issues like motion sickness latency, were addressed using rendering techniques, efficient server management, iterative testing. findings demonstrate successfully integrates academic social functionalities into single platform, offering students more interactive engaging experience. broader implications this suggest XR poised revolutionize not only teaching but also operational structures institutions. Future studies encouraged explore scalability applications across diverse contexts disciplines, ensuring universities remain forefront digital transformation. By addressing both dimensions, provides comprehensive framework for continued integration higher education.

The Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) field has seen rapid growth in various industries due to the introduction of Extended Reality (XR) environments. These environments require improved interface methods, real-time processing, low latency, and integrated User Experience (UE) servicing. This work aims improve user interactions XR introduces a new Hierarchical Adaptive System (HAS) address these challenges. study presents Real-Time Adaptation Model (RTAM) for interfaces, which combines adaptive optimized performance, Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), Fuzzy Logic (FL). system addresses unpredictability, Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA), parallel processing pipelines. HAS did better than best methods by 46.3% terms Faster Integration (FLI), 63.2% Lower Error Rates (LER), 37.4% Reduced Task Completion Times (RTCT) with 60 users different interactive settings. Despite maintaining adaptation achieves score 0.86 resource utilization efficiency. also identified improvements responsiveness overall satisfaction. results support that effectively solves RTAM issues settings, laying basis next-generation immersive apps more responsive user-centered communication models.
