ABSTRACT
In
the
context
of
training
load
monitoring,
most
demanding
periods
play
(MDPs)
have
increasingly
caught
interest
researchers.
However,
MDPs
analysis
is
currently
embryonic,
raising
some
conceptual
and
methodological
questions.
This
current
opinion
synthesizes
methods
used
for
while
highlighting
gaps
proposing
a
broader
perspective
on
topic.
It
underlined
that
(a)
information
available
mostly
limited
to
external
(particularly
running-based
metrics),
with
scarce
research
focused
internal
load;
(b)
metrics
been
analyzed
in
univariate
way,
neglecting
multivariate
scenarios
from
which
emerge;
(c)
are
highly
variable
over
time
due
complex
interaction
between
individual,
tactical–technical,
contextual
factors;
(d)
evidence
regarding
contextualization
tactical–technical
perspective.
Thus,
would
benefit
cross-referencing

actions
avoiding
