Agricultural emission reduction has become key to achieving “Double Carbon” goal. At same time, role digital economy “dual carbon” goal cannot be ignored as an important engine boost high-quality development economy. Therefore, this paper uses panel data 30 provinces mainland from 2011 2019 construct a spatial Durbin model and mediation effect explore impact on intensity mediating technological progress. The research results show that: (1) fluctuated declined during study period, but current still at high level; (2) inhibitory achieved by promoting progress, intermediary progress been verified; (3) can significantly reduce agriculture, inhibition positive spillover effect. Big data and mobile technology are widely claimed to be global disruptive forces in agriculture that benefit small-scale farmers. Yet the access of farmers this is poorly understood. We show only 24–37% farms <1 ha size served by third generation (3G) or 4G services, compared 74–80% >200 size. Furthermore, croplands with severe yield gaps, climate-stressed locations food-insecure populations have poor service coverage. Across many countries Africa, less than ~40% farming households Internet access, cost remains prohibitive. recommend a digital inclusion agenda whereby governments, development community private sector focus their efforts improve so data-driven available all globally. considered growing boon for This study finds currently ha, regions yields low food security
