Cancer immunotherapy and its facilitation by nanomedicine

Abstract
Cancer
immunotherapy
has
sparked
a
wave
of
cancer
research,
driven
by
recent
successful
proof-of-concept
clinical
trials.
However,
barriers
are
emerging
during
its
rapid
development,
including
broad
adverse
effects,
lack
reliable
biomarkers,
tumor
relapses,
and
drug
resistance.
Integration
nanomedicine
may
ameliorate
current
immunotherapy.
Ultra-large
surface-to-volume
ratio,
extremely
small
size,
easy
modification
surface
nanoparticles
enable
them
to
selectively
detect
cells
kill
in
vivo.
Exciting
synergistic
applications
the
two
approaches
have
emerged
treating
various
cancers
at
intersection
nanomedicine,
indicating
potential
that
combination
these
therapeutic
modalities
can
lead
new
paradigms
treatment
cancer.
This
review
discusses
status
explores
possible
opportunities
platform
make
more
powerful
precise
synergizing
approaches.

Abstract
Over
the
past
few
years,
tumor
microbiome
is
increasingly
recognized
for
its
multifaceted
involvement
in
cancer
initiation,
progression,
and
metastasis.
With
application
of
16S
ribosomal
ribonucleic
acid
(16S
rRNA)
sequencing,
intratumoral
microbiome,
also
referred
to
as
tumor-intrinsic
or
tumor-resident
has
been
found
play
a
significant
role
microenvironment
(TME).
Understanding
their
complex
functions
critical
identifying
new
therapeutic
avenues
improving
treatment
outcomes.
This
review
first
summarizes
origins
composition
these
microbial
communities,
emphasizing
adapted
diversity
across
diverse
range
types
stages.
Moreover,
we
outline
general
mechanisms
by
which
specific
microbes
induce
including
activation
carcinogenic
pathways,
deoxyribonucleic
(DNA)
damage,
epigenetic
modifications,
chronic
inflammation.
We
further
propose
may
evade
immunity
promote
angiogenesis
support
while
uncovering
influences
on
each
step
metastatic
cascade,
such
invasion,
circulation,
seeding
secondary
sites.
Additionally,
closely
associated
with
drug
resistance
efficacy
modulating
immune
responses,
metabolism,
apoptotic
pathways.
Furthermore,
explore
innovative
microbe-based
strategies,
engineered
bacteria,
oncolytic
virotherapy,
other
modalities
aimed
at
enhancing
immunotherapeutic
efficacy,
paving
way
microbiome-centered
frameworks.

Abstract
Colorectal
cancer
(CRC)
represents
a
considerable
global
health
challenge,
ranking
third
in
incidence
and
second
mortality
worldwide.
However,
existing
therapies
for
diseases
with
advanced
stages
often
fail,
thereby
necessitating
the
search
more
comprehensive
treatments.
Oncolytic
virus,
novel
anticancer
approach,
exhibits
promising
capabilities
selectively
targeting
destroying
tumor
cells
while
augmenting
their
efficacy
through
genetic
engineering
modifications.
Anticipated
as
new
therapeutic
paradigm
CRC,
this
study
aimed
to
assess
performance
of
oncolytic
virus
clinical
trials
explore
potential
synergies
other
modalities,
offering
insights
into
future
direction
CRC
treatment.

review

CRC
pathogenesis
