In a May 2023 advisory, the US Surgeon General raised concerns about effects of social media use on well-being. One implied strategy to reduce its impact is abstaining from digital use. This state-of-the-art review summarizes most recent studies reducing or use, including (ie, “digital detox”) and effect well-being inform parents, educators, schools, policymakers, public when taking action. June 2023, we conducted literature search in Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect. We included reviews original research articles (1) focusing interventions screen time/social time (2) on/association with summarized key points 2 published 6 (published between 2013 2023), 139 total. Our main findings are: 1. there no clear definition detox consistency assessment interventions’ effectiveness; 2. media/smartphone rather than promoting total abstinence showed more beneficial well-being; 3. their duration varies depending type outcome; and4. are influenced by gender, age, contextual factors. Available evidence aiming at limited, leaving implications for policymaking this point. More empirical, high-quality needed understand circumstances under which helpful whom.

Literature reviews on how social media use affects adolescent mental health have accumulated at an unprecedented rate of late. Yet, a higher-level integration the evidence is still lacking. We fill this gap with up-to-date umbrella review, review published between 2019 and mid-2021. Our search yielded 25 reviews: seven meta-analyses, nine systematic, narrative reviews. Results showed that most interpreted associations as 'weak' or 'inconsistent,' whereas few qualified same 'substantial' 'deleterious.' summarize gaps identified in reviews, provide explanation for their diverging interpretations, suggest several avenues future research.

The Covid-19 physical distancing measures had a detrimental effect on adolescents' mental health. Differential effects of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic and associated public restrictions on adolescent girls boys are emerging but have not been elucidated. This study examined gender differences across broad indicators well-being during COVID-19 in Iceland, explored potential explanations for these differences.In total, 523 youth (56.5% girls) born Iceland 2004 completed measures mental health problems (depressive symptoms, anger suicide attempts) designed this to assess (e.g., day-to-day life, academic performance, family peer relationships, physical health) behavioral changes pandemic. Abstract In the post-pandemic era, there has been a heightened global focus on mental health challenges facing individuals, with particular emphasis innovative and effective therapeutic approaches. Grounded Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework theory environments, examines responses participants exhibitions, particularly from perspective website aesthetics. The impact these users’ place attachment loyalty behaviors also explored.
