Abstract
For
both
research
and
practice,
it
is
paramount
to
understand
what,

agri-environmental
policies
have
been
put

we

a
database
of
6,124

1960
2022

200
countries.

change

Abstract
Land
restoration
and
sustainable
land
management
projects
have
now
been
proposed
for
up
to
a
billion
hectares
globally,
responding
continuous
degradation
processes.
But,
lack
of
reliable
cost
estimates
hinders
implementation,
which
results
in
high
perceived
risk
investments.
This
study
addresses
this
gap,
using
data
from
243
multiple
sources
estimate
the
ranges
different
types
more
precisely.
The
analysis
shows
median
costs
vary
185
$US/ha
3012
depending
on
measure,
implying
current
global
commitment
0.04%–0.27%
annual
GDP
implement.

majority
these
commitments
are
made
by
developing
countries,
