This
study
investigated
the
effect
of
knee
flexion
range
motion
(ROM)
during
leg
press
exercise
on
quadriceps
femoris
muscle
hypertrophy
in
resistance-trained
individuals.
Twenty-three
participants
(training
age:
7.2
±
3.5
years)
completed
a

design,

four
sets
unilateral
presses
to
momentary
failure

weekly
for
8
weeks.

Given
advances
in
antiretroviral
therapy,
the
mortality
rate

HIV
infection

living

(PLWH)
experience
longer
life
spans
coupled
persistent
immune
activation
despite
viral
suppression
and
potential
toxicity
from
long-term
therapy

Consequently,
PLWH
face
a
cardiovascular
disease
(CVD)
risk
more
than
twice
that
of
general
population,
making
it
leading
cause
death
among
this
group.
Here,
we
briefly
review
epidemiology
CVD
highlighting
disparities
at
intersections

gender,
age,
race/ethnicity,
contributions

determinants
health
psychosocial
stress

MicroRNAs
(miRNAs)
