Abstract
Background
The
increasing
prevalence
of
physical
inactivity,
declining
fitness,
and
rising
childhood
obesity
highlight
the
importance
literacy
(PL),
as
a
foundational
component
for
fostering
lifelong
health
active
lifestyle.
This
recognition
necessitates
development
effective
tools
PL
assessment
that
are
applicable
across
diverse
cultural
landscapes.
Aim
study
aimed
to
translate
Canadian
Assessment
Physical
Literacy-2
(CAPL-2)
into
Urdu
adapt
it
Pakistani
context,
assess
among
children
aged
8–12
years
in
Pakistan.
Method

than
girls,
few
exceptions.
Conclusion
marks
step
cross-cultural
adaptation

successfully
validating
context

Background
Physical
literacy
(PL)
encompasses
an
individual’s
motivation,
confidence,
physical
competence,
and
knowledge,
all
of
which
foster
lifelong
engagement
in
activities.
In
developing
countries
like
Pakistan,
there
is
a
pressing
need
to
assess
PL
status
using
culturally
valid
tools.
This
study
aims
evaluate
among
children
aged
8–12
South
Punjab,
Pakistan
while
normative
reference
curves
exploring
factors
influencing
PL.
Methods
A
cross-sectional
was
conducted
with
1,360
students
(mean
age
=
10.00,
SD
1.41
years)
from
85
schools,
adapted
validated
version
the
CAPL-2
tool.
The
scoring
system
align
population
cultural
context.
Statistical
analyses,
including
t-tests,
Chi-squared
tests,
Pearson’s
correlation,
multivariate
logistic
regression,

regression
tree

were
performed
