Summary Drawing on uncertainty management theory, we propose that employees' is a distinct key mechanism explaining the relationship between ethical leadership and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). We contend leadership, by promoting work environment governed moral principles, reduces sense of thereby fosters their OCB. However, suggest leaders' close monitoring, which leaders may utilize to be informed about adherence standards, nullifies these positive implications leadership. To test contentions, conducted an online vignette study (Study 1) field 2). In Study 1, found significant negative main effect uncertainty, but this was negated when monitoring high. 2, replicated findings—ethical negatively related became nonsignificant addition, OCB toward organization (OCBO) not individuals (OCBI). Consequently, mediated OCBO, mediation moderated monitoring. such did occur for OCBI. Taken together, our research reveals viable strategy implemented alongside managing fostering

Cost overruns (COs) in public sector social housing programs (PSSHPs) will continue unabated without immediate intervention to resolve the ad hoc amalgamation of root cause ontologies. This study applied a fuzzy synthetic evaluation (FSE) multicriteria decision support model evaluate and prioritize overall cost overrun risk PSSHPs. In Caribbean Small Island Developing State (SIDS) context, questionnaire survey measuring 41 perceived critical factors (CRFs) was used derive impact normalized values from 150 professional participants. Twenty-two CRFs four principal groups’ (PRGs) membership functions were determined using knowledge-based inference procedures. Politically linked contractors intentionally inferior building contracts caused most PSSHP overruns. The FSE reveals that political PRG is major COs, followed by socioeconomic, technical, psychological PRGs. found level (ORL) PSSHPs high, meaning government investment high-risk endeavor ill-informed choices could lead “wicked” problems. Defuzzifying risks provided deeper insights into nature scope related management implications unsustainable decision-making practices provide opportunities for adequate control strategies maintain economic viability. research evidenced fusion different CO ontologies raises awareness hidden should be prioritized achieve sustainable practices.
