Chinese city governments have collaborated increasingly to address regional environmental issues by participating in informal and formal collaborative networks. However, collaboration among cities involves risks. This study investigates how strategically select partners networks the context of Yangtze River Delta China. addresses this question assessing nature problems networks, extent homophily actors’ preferences, their relationship multiplexity. Findings from Exponential Random Graph Analysis demonstrate: (1) tend connect popular actor create closure network, while only forging network; (2) (in water pollution) heterogeneity air jointly affect governments’ choices (3) presence multiplexity wherein formation ties is built between with pre-existing interactions. The findings advance our knowledge partner selection local governance

ABSTRACT Increasing and intensifying the use of land represents a prominent sustainability challenge particular importance in regions undergoing rapid change while at same time exhibiting large natural anthropocentrically induced variability. To reconcile needs for both human prosperity healthy ecosystems, more integrated understanding key biophysical adaptation processes is paramount such dynamic deeply entangled social environmental contexts. Interdisciplinary research utilizing network perspective provides novel methodological theoretical approach to that end. We review synthesize recent network-centric studies, this show how rangeland managers pastoral region Qinghai Province China form relationships based on geographic proximity, status shared grazing areas. The results indicate adaption socioeconomic changes partly process develop their adaptive capacity jointly concert with others they trust whom share Avenues further development perspective, terms it might contribute important new insights about sustainably landscapes change, are suggested.

Networked infrastructure systems — including energy, transportation, water, and wastewater provide essential services to society. Globally, these are undergoing major transformative processes such as digitalization, decentralization, or integrated management. Networks contain complex patterns of dependency and require multiple levels analysis to explain their formation, structure, outcomes. In this Element, the authors develop Multilevel Network Framework. The framework serves as (i) a conceptual tool think more deeply about network dynamics, (ii) research assist in connecting data, theory, empirical models, (iii) diagnostic analyze categorize bodies research. then systematically review literature public administration, management, policy. They apply Framework literature; identify significant gaps; examine micro, macro cross-level relations; relevant mechanisms theories. ABSTRACT Maintaining ecological connectivity is crucial for biodiversity, yet effectively managing interconnected areas through actor collaboration challenging. This study examines social–ecological fit in aquatic “blue” and terrestrial “green” areas, encompassing natural semi‐natural elements, human‐dominated landscapes. Combining species distribution models analyses focused on declining amphibians survey data actors’ area management within we create a spatially explicit network that analyze using models. Results highlight diverse dependencies shaping interactions. Strong observed blue‐rural‐green whereas blue‐urban‐green lack collaboration, with minor rivers urban‐green spaces at the network's core plagued by misfit. Strengthening these essential to prevent further degradation. Incorporating perspective covering blue green guides targeted interventions fosters effective conservation policy practice.

Yet, and administration literature on institutions institutional design have been developed largely in parallel to behavior network literatures. Drawing insights from both, we apply Institutional Grammar Tool along with survey data assess how addressing collective action problems result variations designs influence Our case is New York City Watersheds, where City, local governments, State, Federal government agreed secure access high‐quality, unfiltered drinking water for City. Despite a long history conflict, parties devised complex governing arrangement created credible commitments while providing variety public goods. Results show rule configurations differ depending whether they create or provide goods, commitment collaboration patterns among stakeholders.

Yogyakarta Regional Tax Office always has difficulty satisfying tax revenue targets year by year. For example, Yogyakarta’s DGT could not meet the target in last three years, while DGCE exceeded target. Reflecting on this condition, needs help from other agencies form of collaborative governance that might them achieve set targets. Meanwhile, there is a lot research Collaborative Governance, but robust generalizations to link theory and practice are still being sought. In order complement between collaboration, study discusses implementation Governance for optimizing state revenues conducting case studies at Directorate General Taxes (DGT) Customs Excise (DGCE) Yogyakarta. The qualitative method was used with data acquisition through interviews literature studies. Based results, it found following Emerson, Nabatchi, Balogh framework (2012) since several system contexts strong drivers.
