We explore the influence of gender and formal organizational status on formation discussion ties. Network data, gathered through surveying employees from a municipal organization in United States, garnered 92% response rate ( n = 143). Results exponential random graph modeling indicate women supervisors are more likely to send ties, while general receive These exploratory results suggest may be perceived as approachable for work discussions, but not supervisors. Community service is a common court-ordered sanction in many countries. Individuals sentenced to community must work specified number of uncompensated hours at an approved agency, typically as condition probation. A core expectation that the agencies benefit from this labor. However, very little research examines organizational and interpersonal dynamics involved when organizations with workers. What are local public nonprofit organizations' experiences workers? How do workers, themselves, experience within agencies? We address these questions through interviews 31 volunteer managers 34 workers two court jurisdictions Northeast Georgia. frame our findings management literature suggest practices could improve for both worker organization.

ABSTRACT Local governments increasingly rely on contractual relationships with third parties for public service delivery, blending formal agreements relational mechanisms to reduce risks and uncertainties. While most research these contracts has focused between two parties, this work adopts a network perspective analyze how the structure of networks—especially close‐knit connections—influences contract design. We analyzed 6576 local in Iowa related safety from 2007 2017 selected 300 qualitatively code provisions. Our findings show that when there are strong shared connections tend be less formal. These results expand typical focus two‐party relationships, showing larger networks can shape balance management.
