Abstract Background: Moral resilience is essential for nursing interns to cope with ethical conflicts during their internships. Ethical competency is important to head nurses' transformational leadership, however, few researches have explored their correlation, Additionally, most studies used variable-oriented approach examine ethical competence, without considering it as a multidimensional concept. This study aimed identify the latent profiles of competence and differences in leadership across profiles. Convenience sampling was recruit 329 nurses from four tertiary hospitals Changsha, Hunan province, China. collected data by using social-demographic survey, Competence Questionnaire, Head Nurse's Transformational Leadership Self-rating Scale between July August 2023.
