The
coronavirus
pandemic
has
generated
and
continues
to
create
unprecedented
demands
on
our
healthcare
systems.
Healthcare
workers
(HCWs)
face
physical
psychological
stresses
caring
for
critically
ill
patients,
including
experiencing
anxiety,
depression,
posttraumatic
stress
symptoms.
Nurses
nursing
staff
disproportionately
experienced
COVID-19-related
distress
due
their
vital

in
infection
mitigation

patient

literature

nurses
caring

COVID-19

narrative
review
critical
evaluation
of
relevant

<p>Nurses
experienced
higher
levels
stress,
burnout,
anxiety,
depression,
frustration,
stigma,
depersonalization
compared
other
HCW.
Factors
that
increased
this
symptomatology
included
concerns
about
infection
or
family
members,
inadequate
staff
protective
equipment,
extended
working
hours,
insufficient
information,
reduced
sense
security,
post-traumatic
stress
disorder.
The
factors
improved
psychopathology
general
positive
attitude,
job
satisfaction,
adequate
information
education,
harmonious
group
relationships,
development,
emotional
intelligence,
psychological
counseling,
mindfulness-based
reduction,
stable
leadership,
