The rise to power of right-wing political formations in numerous countries opens new questions on how they relate the climate emergency. Now that outright denial has become a residual position, intersection change, migration, and security might prove litmus test right wing 'digests' change. And indeed, while humanitarian narratives portray 'climate refugees' as victims deserving protection, spectre exodus' been mobilised also justify border militarisation reinforce racial lines. Aiming advance debates ecologies right, we examine articulation migration' Italian landscape, case made particularly relevant given ruling coalition its track-record anti-migration rhetoric policies. Drawing qualitative analysis parliamentary debates, electoral programs, social media feeds, other sources, show rather than waiving exodus, attempting 'domestication' taming debate impacts global warming reducing it domestic matter. These findings, underscoring need for situated nuanced understandings actors address crisis relation borders, highlight danger formations, top responding emergency by pushing explicit forms eco-fascism or ecobordering, can resort less spectacularised repertoires aim at blocking action still pursing anti-migrant racist agendas.
