Capture

Abstract
Bivalve
molluscs
are
very
nutritious
and
an
important
source
of
human
animal
protein.
To
date,
bivalve
farming
has
contributed
to
about
15%
the
mean
per
capita
protein
intake
approximate
1.5
billion
people
around
world.
Unfortunately,
effects
climate
change,
mainly
global
warming
ocean
acidification,
have
had
many
deleterious
on
aquaculture,
not
only
leading
mass
mortalities
bivalves
in
farms
hatcheries,
but
also
causing
collapse
natural
populations.
In
response
recurrent
farmed
bivalves,
selective
breeding
programmes
been
launched
with
goal
reducing
mortality
rate
caused
by
disease
outbreaks
changing
conditions.
This
article
reviews
progress
potential
edible
context
change.

that
