New initiates on antiretroviral therapy (ART) are at high risk of treatment discontinuation, putting their health risk. In low- and middle-income countries, like Malawi, appropriate digital applications (apps) must fit into local clinic, connectivity resource constraints. We describe the human centered design (HCD) development process an open-source, hybrid, two-way texting (2wT) system to improve ART retention. detail critical role diverse healthcare workers (HCWs) in HCD inform app usability, create buy-in, ensure optimization for context. optimized 2wT usability acceptability over three phases: 1) informal feedback sessions with stakeholders, 2) a small pilot, 3) key informant interviews. Phase one included four HCWs, including “expert clients”, clinical, technical, supervisory, evaluation teams design. phase 2, pilot 50 participating clients aimed implementation improvement. interviews ten HCWs deepen understanding documenting strengths weaknesses optimization. Multi-phase helped refine language message timing both weekly tailored client-specific visit reminders. The led improvements educational materials guide client responses ease interaction HCWs. interviews, appreciated co-creation process, suggested ways increase access low-literacy or those without consistent phone access, felt integrating other eHealth platforms would scalability. Inclusion across phases design, adaption, increased among this setting. Engaging co-ownership from inception appears successful that will meet HCW needs, therefore, enhance support attend visits remain care.

Interventions that leverage telehealth technologies have the potential to improve health outcomes among people with HIV who experience multiple complex barriers care. To assess current state of knowledge on interventions for in United States, we searched literature recent (2019–2023) designed along care continuum, including linkage care, retention antiretroviral therapy adherence, and viral suppression. Our search identified 23 interventions. Text messaging was most common delivery mode, followed by videoconferencing, commercially available applications, novel applications. Nine used more than one mode. Common features across address continuum included: self-management monitoring tools; treatment adherence education; resources referrals provision; live ongoing support or urgent issues; videoconference-based coaching, counseling, case management, care; online peer-to-peer support; ecological momentary assessments monitor barriers; game-based elements increase engagement. were reported as acceptable feasible, several showing an effect adherence. Further research is needed fully ending epidemic States.

Quantitative data were collected from 266 participants using questionnaire, followed by one-on-one interviews 12 HIV. analysis involved Chi-square tests, t-tests, binary logistic regression, while qualitative analyzed conventional content analysis. findings show that was significantly associated effort expectancy (aOR 1.26, CI 1.13-1.41), facilitating conditions 1.44, 1.19-1.73), estimated monthly income 2.94, 1.05-8.23; aOR 7.29, 1.12-47.49), antiretroviral medication adherence 1.93, 1.12-3.33). Qualitative insights underscore importance digital literacy availability support services enhance utilization telehealth. Abstract In this viewpoint, we discuss retention in care for people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and call into question the methodology used to characterize retention, as well definitions themselves. Optimal HIV (PWH) is defined multiple ways by major healthcare leaders United States, typically focusing on appointment attendance or laboratory work. Yet, these rely in-person encounters, an approach that becoming less common due rise of telehealth visits, particularly light coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. Our recent work showed relying electronic health records identify PWH who were not retained only failed capture nuances modern medical treatment engagement, but also led misidentification patients’ status limitations record system. Abstract Background Oral lichen planus is a chronic and potentially malignant disorder of oral mucosa. Corticosteroids are used as first-line therapy for patients; however, they have many side effects. Platelet concentrates (platelet-rich plasma platelet-rich fibrin) autologous bioactive materials. This systematic review investigated the effects platelet compared to topical steroids in treating symptomatic patients. Materials methods A literature search was performed PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, Embase, Cochrane randomized controlled trials. Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews meta-analysis guidelines were observed article selection. For pooling studies, using Standardized Mean Differences by random model carried out estimate summary effect sizes treatment planus. Results total six incorporating 109 patients, involved. Both modalities showed statistically significant improvement outcome parameters (lesion size, pain score, Thongprasom score) from baseline end further follow-up visits. There no difference pooled SMD decline patients two groups (SMD = 0.17 (95% CI: -0.47 0.81); I 2 63.6%). The score receiving lower than corticosteroid groups, with size (SMD= -2.88 -5.51 -0.25); 91.7%). Therefore, there between regarding clinical score. Conclusion Autologous concentrates, decreased lesions, scale, but treatments not significant. Thus, could be considered an alternative steroids.
