Background In the interest of accurately assessing effects digital technology use in early childhood, researchers and experts have emphasized need to conceptualize measure children’s beyond screen time. Researchers argued that many patterns could be problematic, resulting emerging list examine their measures. Objective We aimed review existing empirical literature is using measures for problematic preschool children with end goal identifying a set reliable valid measures, predicting negative outcomes health, development, or well-being. Methods conducted scoping across Web Science, PubMed, Google Scholar databases identify peer-reviewed publications were published from January 2012 December 2023, written English language, described an study, included exposure (ie, time) aged 0 6 years. Results The search yielded 95 studies, which 18 composite 23 specific aspects found. Existing as either group risky behaviors symptoms presumed underlying disorder, latter being more common. Looking at conceptual background psychometric properties, fall short reliably all crucial childhood. Therefore, benefits shortcomings single-aspect are evaluated discussed. Conclusions On basis current research, technologies, device before sleep, solitary represent been consistently associated children. addition, potential include during meals, emotional regulation, multitasking, technoference, warranting further research. Background and Objectives: Primary headaches are highly prevalent among medical students, negatively impacting their health academic performance. Excessive electronic device use has been implicated as a risk factor, in contrast to physical activity, which may be protective factor; however, comprehensive data lacking, especially for Saudi trainees. This study aims investigate the associations between use, exercise, students. Materials Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 504 students at Jazan University completed an online survey collecting sociodemographic factors, headache characteristics/triggers, habits, exercise frequency, impacts. Descriptive analyses summarized sample characteristics. Logistic regression identified predictors of 12-month prevalence. Results: Overall, 83% reported experiencing past year. High prevalence was observed females (86.6%) third-year (88.3%). Using devices ≥4 h daily associated with higher adjusted odds (OR 13.89, 95% CI 1.96–98.54) compared ≤1 daily. Low activity (exercising 1 day vs. 7 days week) also increased 3.89, 1.61–9.42). Headaches impairing productivity 4.39, 2.28–8.45) exacerbated by 10.37, 2.02–53.35) were further susceptibility. Conclusions: inactivity appear modifiable factors frequent Multifaceted interventions incorporating education campaigns, skills training, support services focused on promoting responsible technology regular help mitigate population. Robust longitudinal studies trials warranted establish causal mechanisms lifestyle undergraduates.

Screen exposure has both negative and positive effects on the level of language skills a child acquires. The purpose this review is to address current literature possible relationship between unsupervised screen development in children provide recommendations caregivers regarding children, taking into consideration effects. A scoping was conducted using PubMed/MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis Retrieval System Online) database. total 590 articles were retrieved considered for inclusion. Twenty-one finally included reviewed with an emphasis language, communication, executive as well cognitive development. outweigh largest number studies demonstrate that may negatively impact child's usage skills, disrupt playtime, affect quality sleep. On other hand, supervised use associated improved skills. More evidence needed new types screens. As technology could play significant role schools future, additional research required create educational media schoolchildren specific guidelines.

Abstract IMPORTANCE Most of the current studies focus on fixed screens. However, small mobile devices have been widely used among children a younger age. OBJECTIVE The aim this study was to explore factors associated with screen use and its duration first second grade elementary school students based Chinese cross-sectional data. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS A total 1121 aged 6-10 years were recruited for study. Logistic regression model analyze influencing whether linear students' electronic time. data analysis spanned from August 21, 2023, January 1, 2024. EXPOSURES questionnaire collect basic information about parents MAIN OUTCOMES MEASURES Recommendations scientific time in response survey results. RESULTS Girls (OR=0.74, p=0.035), having their own phone (OR=3.66, p<0.001), unclear rules (OR=1.45, father's education level (OR=0.49, p=0.033), mother's weekend (<1 h/d as reference group) 1-2 (OR=2.49, p=0.001), 2-3 (OR=2.7, ≥3 (OR=2.27, p=0.009) significantly students’ For (weekdays + weekends), girls spent more screens compared boys (β=58.88, p=0.043); or tablet computer (β=65.47, p=0.026), less clear family's (β=60.55, longer (β=142.61, p=0.027) students. CONCLUSIONS RELEVANCE Availability devices, clarity rules, education, correlated China. Future longitudinal design are needed.
