We
tested
how
well
the
Identity-Deprivation-Efficacy-Action-Subjective-wellbeing
(IDEAS)
model
predicts
citizens’
intentions
to
engage
in
collective
action
opposing
their
government,
and
subjective
well-being.
Representative
samples
from
Scotland,
Wales,
county
of
Kent
England
were
surveyed
during
COVID-19
pandemic
October
2020
(N
=
1,536).
Results
largely
support
our
preregistered
hypotheses,
confirming
that
IDEAS
offers
a
valid
explanatory
framework
for
relative
deprivation
both
one’s
government
levels
In
case
action,
there
significant
effects
(cognitive
affective)
efficacy
on
social
change
beliefs,
which
turn
positively
predicted
intentions.
The
role
national
identification
was
more
nuanced,
revealing
negative
indirect
via
deprivation,
positive
effect
political
orientation.
Findings
also
suggest
interesting
directions
future
research
identification.

The
study
sought
to
explore
the
barriers
and
facilitators
for
making
physical
activity
lifestyle
choices
among
Black
Asian
Ethnic
Minority
(BAME)
students
at
Teesside
University
during
COVID-19
pandemic.
A
qualitative
approach
was
used
capture
in-depth
experiences
of
BAME
individuals.
There
is
a
paucity
primary
studies
focusing
on
individuals’
lifestyles
prior
lockdowns
between
April
August
2020.
individuals
faced
exacerbated
physical,
psychological,
social,
institutional

mapped
onto
capability,
opportunity,
motivation

behaviour
(COM-B).
Twelve
participants
were
interviewed
via
Microsoft
Teams
using
semi-structured
interviews

modified

Although
existing
literature
has
COM-B,
these
quantitative
findings
that

not
enable
an
exploration

During
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
governments
implemented
a
range
of
measures,
ranging
from
public
health
campaigns
promoting
regular
hand
washing,
wearing
face
masks,
and
practising
social
distancing,
to
closing
businesses,
restrictions
on
travel,
prohibition
household
mixing,
implementation
shelter-in-place
lockdown
orders.
Although
many
these
measures
were
backed
with
threat
fines
or
imprisonment,
ultimately
compliance
requires
active
cooperation
part
citizens,
some
notably
businesses
implementing
orders,
entailed
significant
disruption
citizens'
lives,
potentially
large
material,
financial,
psychosocial
costs.
This
chapter
summarises
literature
patterns,
determinants,
consequences
preventive
behaviours
during
COVID-19,
