Abstract Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a leading cause of end-stage renal disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the association between triglyceride glucose (TyG) index, novel marker reflecting insulin resistance, and risk developing DN T2DM. We conducted comprehensive literature search PubMed, Embase, Web Science databases up May 12, 2024. Studies assessing TyG index relation among T2DM were included. The pooled relative risks (RRs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) calculated using random-effects model. A total eight longitudinal follow-up studies encompassing 15 889 analysis revealed significant higher an increased (RR=1.53, CI: 1.37–1.71, p<0.001; I2=35%). results meta-regression suggested that cutoff was positively associated RR for DN. Subgroup analyses demonstrated stronger ≥9.5 as compared those <9.5 (RR: 1.73 vs. 1.40, p subgroup difference <0.05). not significantly affected by study design, mean age patients, proportion men, or durations. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR), which are calculated using different parameters, widely used as markers of insulin resistance associated with cardiovascular diseases prognosis. However, whether they have an additive effect on the risk mortality remains unclear. This study aimed to explore combined assessment TyG eGDR improved prediction long-term in individuals without diabetes. In this cross-sectional cohort study, data were derived from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2001–2018, death record information was obtained Death Index. associations all-cause determined by multivariate Cox regression analysis restricted cubic splines. Insulin resistance, represented by increased triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index levels, shows interplay with visceral obesity and together promotes cardiovascular diseases mortality. However, significant controversies exist regarding whether modified TyG indices, such as TyG-BMI, TyG-WC, TyG-WHtR, outperform the in predicting outcomes. We aimed to explore there was a synergistic effect of body shape (ABSI), better parameter reflecting obesity, on analyzed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2001-2018 17,329 individuals. The associations ABSI mortality were investigated via Cox regression analysis restricted cubic splines. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve performed compare predictive value. Mediation used potential mediator. A total 673 (3.9%) deaths occurred during median follow-up 8.92 years. Individuals high (TyG > 9.04 0.085) at highest risk both individuals (HR = 1.714, 95% CI 1.123-2.616) without diabetes 1.402, 1.003-1.960), suggesting effect. Next, we multiplied these two indicators established TyG-ABSI. It showed J-shaped relationship positive linear diabetes, respectively. Arterial stiffness, estimated pulse wave velocity, partially mediated TyG-ABSI mortality, mediation proportion 42.7%. value greater than that index, TyG-WHtR (Harrell's C-index: 0.710 vs 0.623 0.539 0.612 0.622, all p < 0.001). simultaneous assessment revealed recommended use instead other indices assessment.

Abstract Background Sepsis, a grave systemic infection, presents substantial health challenges. While insulin resistance frequently occurs in sepsis conditions, its relationship with sepsis‐associated delirium remains insufficiently explored. Aim This study aimed to explore the causal effect between triglyceride glucose (TyG) index and risk of patients through use inference. Study Design A cohort 5461 admitted intensive care unit (ICU) was selected from Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV database. Patients were grouped into high TyG (≥9.48) low (<9.48) categories. Propensity score matching applied control confounders, average treatment on treated calculated. Results Of patients, 59.6% experienced delirium. The incidence higher group (1751 patients; 66.6%) than (56.3%) ( p < .001). results logistic regression analysis indicated that significantly (adjusted odds ratio 1.34, 95% confidence interval: 1.16–1.53). Following matching, increased by 6.9% T = 3.29), finding confirmed Rosenbaum sensitivity analysis. Conclusions represents straightforward efficacious instrument nursing staff ascertain likelihood during routine monitoring their condition. ability make inferences observational studies provides novel approach research. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, an indicator of insulin resistance, has uncertain role glycemic management T2DM patients at risk for DR. This study aimed to evaluate the association between TyG index and DR across different control status. Methods: A total 4,372 in-patients from Beijing Tongren Hospital (2013– 2024) were included this study. categorized into four groups based on quartiles (Q1-Q4).
