Turmeric is a curry spice that originated from India, which has attracted great interest in recent decades because it contains bioactive curcuminoids (curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin). Curcumin (1,7-bis-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-hepta-1,6-diene-3,5-dione), lipophilic polyphenol may work as an anticancer, antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging agent suggested by several vitro, vivo studies clinical trials. However, poor aqueous solubility, bioavailability, pharmacokinetic profiles limit curcumin’s therapeutic usage. To address these issues, curcumin formulations have been developed. suboptimal sample preparation analysis methodologies often hamper the accurate evaluation of bioactivities their efficacy. This review summarizes research on biological, pharmaceutical, analytical aspects curcumin. Various formulation techniques corresponding trials outcomes are discussed. A detailed comparison different (ultrasonic, pressurized liquid extraction, microwave, reflux) (FT-IR, FT-NIR, FT-Raman, UV, NMR, HPTLC, HPLC, LC-MS/MS) used for extraction quantification matrices, presented. Application optimal preparation, chromatographic separation, detection will significantly improve assessment biological activities curcuminoids.

Inflammation is the principal response invoked by body to address injuries. Despite inflammation constituting a crucial component of tissue repair, it well known that unchecked or chronic becomes deleterious, leading progressive damage. Studies over past years focused on foods rich in polyphenols with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, since was recognized play central role several diseases. In this review, we discuss beneficial effects resveratrol, most widely investigated polyphenol, cancer neurodegenerative, respiratory, metabolic, cardiovascular We highlight how despite its unfavorable pharmacokinetics, can modulate inflammatory pathways underlying those diseases, identify future opportunities for evaluation clinical feasibility.

Natural compounds, in recent years, have attracted significant attention for their use the prevention and treatment of diverse chronic diseases as they are devoid major toxicities. Boswellic acid (BA), a series pentacyclic triterpene molecules, is isolated from gum resin Boswellia serrata carteri. It proved to be one such agent that has exhibited efficacy against various like arthritis, diabetes, asthma, cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, Parkinson’s Alzheimer’s, etc. The molecular targets attributed its wide range biological activities include transcription factors, kinases, enzymes, receptors, growth present review an attempt demonstrate pharmacological uses BA, along with underlying mechanism action different ailments. Further, this also discusses roadblocks associated pharmacokinetics bioavailability promising compound strategies overcome those limitations developing it effective drug clinical management diseases.

Oral cancer (OC) is a devastating disease that takes the lives of lots people globally every year. The current spectrum treatment modalities does not meet needs patients. heterogeneity demands personalized medicine or targeted therapies. Therefore, there an urgent need to identify potential targets for OC. Abundant evidence has suggested components protein kinase B (AKT)/ mammalian target rapamycin (mTOR) pathway are intrinsic factors carcinogenesis. AKT central proliferation and survival normal cells, its downstream protein, mTOR, also plays indispensable role in cellular processes. wide involvement AKT/mTOR been noted oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). This axis significantly regulates various hallmarks cancer, like proliferation, survival, angiogenesis, invasion, metastasis, autophagy, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Activated signaling associated with circadian signaling, chemoresistance radio-resistance OC cells. Several miRNAs, circRNAs lncRNAs modulate this pathway. association process tumorigenesis culminated identification specific inhibitors prevention In review, we discussed significance as therapeutic management article provided update on several emerged promising candidates interventions against OC/head neck (HNC) clinical studies.

Naringenin (NRG) is a polyphenolic phytochemical belonging to the class of flavanones and widely distributed in citrus fruits some other such as bergamot, tomatoes, cocoa, cherries. NRG presents several interesting pharmacological properties, anti-cancer, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory activities. However, therapeutic potential hampered due its hydrophobic nature, which leads poor bioavailability. Here, we review wide range nanocarriers that have been used delivery systems for NRG, including polymeric nanoparticles, micelles, liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs), nanostructured carriers (NLCs), nanosuspensions, nanoemulsions. These nanomedicine formulations applied treatment diseases, using vitro, ex vivo, vivo models different routes administration. From this review, it can be concluded option various diseases cancer, neurological disorders, liver ocular inflammatory skin diabetes when formulated appropriate nanocarriers.
