The microbiome is an integral part of chicken health and can affect immunity, nutrient utilization, performance. role bacterial microbiota members in host relatively well established, but less attention has been paid to fungal the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) community. However, human studies indicate that fungi play a critical health. Here, we described communities, or mycobiomes, both lumen mucosa ileum cecum from hatch through 14 days age. We also assessed effects delayed access feed immediately post-hatch (PH) on mycobiome composition, as PH delay commonly associated with poor Chicken mycobiomes each populations were distinct changed over time. All dominated by Gibberella, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Sarocladium, Meyerozyma, Penicillium abundant. Relative abundances some taxa differed significantly In cecal ileal lumens, was present extremely low quantities absent during one two then increased Meyerozyma Wickerhamomyces time luminal sites. contrast, several highly abundant unclassified decreased after two, highlighting need for improved understanding gut biology. Mycobiomes chicks fed first 2 versus those not did differ, except two. Similarities observed among unfed at later timepoints suggest delays feeding do have long lasting composition. Together, these results provide foundation future studies, negative production impacts are likely related development GIT.

The fatal impairment of the intestinal mucosal barrier chicks caused by Salmonella significantly resulting economic losses in modern poultry industry. Probiotics are recognized for beneficially influencing host immune responses, promoting maintenance epithelial integrity, antagonistic activity against pathogenic microorganisms and health-promoting properties. Some basic studies attest to probiotic capabilities show that Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus could protect mucosa from injury animals infected with Typhimurium. However, mechanisms underlying its protective effects still not fully understood. Here, we used chick infection model combined histological, immunological, molecular approaches address this question. results indicated L. reduced diarrhea rate increased daily weight gain survival S. Notably, pre-treatment balanced expression interleukin-1β interleukin-18, moderated endotoxin D-lactic acid levels, expanded tight junction protein levels (Zonula occluden-1 Claudin-1), enhanced function cells. Additionally, investigations using full-length 16S rRNA sequencing also demonstrated greatly weakened adhesion , mainly manifestation is improvement diversity microbiota chicks. Abstract Revealing the assembly and succession of chicken gut microbiota is critical for a better understanding its role in physiology metabolism. However, few studies have examined dynamic changes absolute microbes using quantitative microbiome profiling (QMP) method. Here, we revealed developmental trajectory broiler bacteriome mycobiome by combining high‐throughput sequencing with microbial load quantification assay. We showed that abundance diversity reached plateau at 7 days posthatch (DPH), forming segment‐specific community types after 1 DPH. Abstract Gut microbiota is an intricate microbial community containing bacteria, fungi, viruses, archaea, and protozoa, each of them contributes to diverse aspects host health. Nevertheless, the influence interaction among gut on health remains uncovered. Here, we showed that between intestinal fungi bacteria shaped lung inflammation during infection. Specifically, antifungal drug‐induced dysbiosis mycobiota enhanced Dysbiosis led Escherichia coli ( E. ) overgrowth translocation infection, which induced accumulation CD45 + F4/80 Ly6G − Ly6C CD11b CD11c macrophages. Clearance macrophages or deletion TLR4 (Toll‐like receptor 4, recognition LPS) rather than Dectin‐1 (recognition beta‐1,3/1,6 glucans fungi) blocked aggravation These findings suggest commensal affects through gut–lung axis, offering a potential therapeutic target for ameliorating

The Tibetan cattle, indispensable·animals on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, have become a focal point for region’s economic development. As such, hybridization of these cattle has been recognized as pivotal strategy to enhance local industry. However, research gut microbiota hybrid remains scarce. Based this, we conducted comparative analysis and its functional implications across three distinct populations: two populations (Tibetan × Holstein TH Jersey TJ) one locoal population (BL). Bacteroidetes Firmicutes dominate all at phylum level. In addition, predominant phyla in BL were found be Cyanobacteria, Verrucomicrobiota, Actinobacteria, which may important reasons adaptability high-altitude environment Plateau. Recent research revealed that dietary genistein supplementation for breeder hens can improve the immune function of offspring chicks. However, it remains unknown whether this maternal effect could intestinal health offspring. This study was conducted to explore mechanism involved in on mucosa and microbial homeostasis chicken A total 120 Qiling were fed a basal diet, 20 mg/kg genistein-supplemented or 40 diet 4 weeks before collecting their eggs. After hatching, 180 male (60 chickens from each group) randomly selected divided into three groups: (1) (CON); (2) low-dose (LGE); (3) high-dose (HGE). At 17 d, 72 (48 CON 24 LGE) group challenged with LPS (LPS); LGE (LPS + LGE). The results showed increased birth weight serum level protein (TP), followed by improved villus morphology. Continuously, body chicks lasted until 21 d. Additionally, observed exhibited protective effects against LPS-induced morphological damage mucosal barrier dysfunction upregulating expression tight junction proteins, specifically ZO-1, Claudin1, E-cadherin, Occludin, at Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we demonstrated has potential facilitate maturation newly hatched enhancing abundance Escherichia coli. effectively reduce Gammaproteobacteria, thus mitigating risk bacterial diversity impairment LPS. Understanding the dynamic and stability of gut microbiota over course production cycle broiler chicken can help identify microbial features that associate with better health productivity. In present study, we profile changes in composition commercially raised broilers at nine distinct time points using shotgun metagenomics culturomics approaches. We demonstrate, within first week post-hatching, a rapid decline relative abundance 122 pioneer species including Bacteroides fragilis, Lachnospira eligens Ruminococcus gnavus, accompanied by substantial decrease both richness diversity. This was followed gradual increase stabilization diversity population structure persisted until reached marketing age. Throughout cycle, key bacterial families such as Lachnospiraceae, Bacteroidaceae, Ruminococcaceae were identified. However, significant shifts lower taxonomic levels occurred different stages, influencing functional capacities resistance profiles microbiota. During growth phase, enzymes crucial to vitamin amino acid metabolism dominated, whereas associated carbohydrate energy notably more abundant during fattening stage. Many predicted antibiotic genes detected association typical commensal microbiota, indicating sustained classes aminoglycosides tetracyclines, which persist even absence selection pressure. Our research carries important implications for management surveillance production.
