Abstract Background After the original 15-item Drive for Muscularity Scale developed by McCreary et al. in 2004, a more theoretically based scale that replicates DMS subscales with better conceptual clarity and shorter number of items, i.e., DMS-9, has recently been Chaba 2018. We sought to contribute literature especially under Arab context, investigating psychometric properties an Arabic translation DMS-9 sample Arabic-speaking Lebanese university students both genders. Methods University (N = 402; 55.2% females) from multiple universities Lebanon were invited fill survey this cross-sectional designed study (December 2022 January 2023). Our was chosen using snowball technique; soft copy questionnaire created google forms software, online approach conceived proceed data collection. Results Using Exploratory Factor Analysis-to- Confirmatory Analysis strategy, we found two-factor model proposed parent adequately replicated our sample. The two factor scores showed very good McDonald’s omega values (ω > 0.8). Findings also gender invariance achieved at configural, metric, scalar levels. Additionally, drive muscularity correlated expected way other variables, providing support convergent divergent validity DMS-9. Specifically, greater attitudes behaviors significantly severe muscle dysmorphic symptoms, inappropriate eating attitudes, bias internalization, lower body appreciation. Conclusion preliminarily suggest is psychometrically sound suitable tool assess construct among community adults. Making available will hopefully benefit scientific working settings, promote local international research area, offer descriptive on how may interfere health indicators general population.

ABSTRACT Introduction Prevalence estimates and correlates of ARFID in non‐Western samples are lacking. This study aims to estimate the prevalence symptoms, identify its phenotypes, explore a community sample from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Method Participants were parents children aged 4–13 years ( n = 87) individuals ≥ 14 old 433). They completed Pica, ARFID, Rumination Disorder Interview‐ARFID‐Questionnaire (PARDI‐AR‐Q), Nine Item Screen (NIAS) Eating Examination‐Questionnaire (EDE‐Q). Multiple regression analyses performed with body mass index or standard deviation score, comorbid psychopathology, EDE‐Q global sex, age as independent variables; dependent variable was psychopathology. Results Among not reporting eating disorder symptoms driven by overvaluation shape weight, PARDI‐AR‐Q diagnostic prediction suggested that approximately 23.4% those exhibited symptoms. Based on NIAS, sensory‐based food avoidance most reported phenotype expression, 29.4% (4–13 years) 12.8% adolescents/adults (≥ 14‐years) In adolescents adults, psychopathology positively associated pathology female sex negatively age. Discussion is first subset GCC countries across sexes broad range, sensory sensitivity common symptom.

Abstract The global trend of advanced aging comes at the cost amplified onset age-related diseases. Dementia is a common multifactorial neurodegenerative disorder, which manifests with progressive declines in cognitive functioning and ability to perform activities daily living. As polices discourage institutionalized care, family members act as primary caregivers endure increased vulnerability physical mental health problems secondary care-related changes life routine relationships. Targeting clinically significant distress earlier stages through valid brief measures may promote caregivers’ wellbeing dementia care continuity/quality. This study aimed determine optimal cutoff score Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 8-items (DASS-8) convenience sample 571 European (Mean age = 53 ± 12 years, Italian 74.4%, Swiss 25.6%) three methods. K-means clustering classified into high- low-distress clusters based on DASS-8 19. Receiver operator curve (ROC) analysis using 48 7 cutoffs Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) Three-Item University California, Los Angeles, Loneliness Scale-version 3 (UCLALS3), revealed two (12.5 14.5, area under (AUC) 0.85 0.92, p values < .001, 95% CI 0.82–0.88 0.89 0.94, sensitivity 0.81 0.78, specificity 0.76 0.89, Youden index 0.57 0.67, respectively). Decision modeling produced (9.5 14.5) for predicting low high caregiving burden loneliness, respectively. According median all (14.5) prevalence was 50.8%. Distress correlated key such burnout loneliness—in path analysis, scores were predicted by ZBI, UCLALS3, dependency, receiving help especially among older, female, spouse caregivers. Further diagnostic workup should follow confirm psycho-pathogenicity above 14.5. Investigations other countries/populations validity this score.
