Moral
injury

NHS-England
trusts
into

survey
exposure
wellbeing.PMIEs
significantly
associated
with
adverse
health
symptoms
across
staff.

ABSTRACT
Objective
The
present
study
assessed
program
feasibility
and
satisfaction
among
recent‐era
veterans
who
participated
in
Mindfulness
to
Manage
Moral
Injury
(MMMI),
a
live
facilitated
web‐based
7‐week
mindfulness‐based
targeting
moral
injury
veterans.
Method
In
total,
56
post‐9/11
were
recruited
with
28
randomized
the
MMMI
condition

Support
(ES)
condition.

participants

as
being
White
(71.4%),

(66.1%),

reported

of

Objective:
Military
veterans
experience
a
higher
prevalence
of
mental
health
difficulties
compared
to
the
general
population.Research

(VPs)

Health
care
workers
have
been
exposed
to
a
variety
of
practical

emotional

Abstract
Objectives
:
Despite
the
increasing
consensus
that
moral
injury
(MI)
is
a
unique
type
of
psychological
stressor,
there
an
ongoing
debate
about
best
practices
for
care.
This
qualitative
study
explored
perceptions
UK
and
US
professionals
in
field
MI
investigating
advances
challenges
treatment
or
support
delivery
issues
relating
to
treatment/support
feasibility
acceptability.
Methods
15
were
recruited.
Semi‐structured,
telephone/online
interviews
carried
out,
transcripts
analyzed
using
thematic
analysis.
Results
Two
interconnected
themes
emerged:
perceived
barriers
appropriate
care
cases
recommendations
providing
effective
patients.
Professionals
highlighted
occur
due
lack
empirical
experience
with
MI,
negligence
patients'
individual
needs
inflexibility
existing
manualised
treatments.
Conclusions
These
findings
illustrate
need
evaluate
effectiveness

approaches
