Ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) are key players in the nitrogen cycle of polar soils. Here, we analyzed metagenomic data from tundra soils Rásttigáisá, Norway, and recovered four metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) assigned to genus 'UBA10452', an uncultured lineage putative AOA order Nitrososphaerales ('terrestrial group I.1b'), phylum Thaumarchaeota. Analysis other eight previously reported MAGs publicly available amplicon sequencing revealed that UBA10452 is predominantly found acidic alpine In particular, were more abundant highly oligotrophic environments such as mineral permafrost than nutrient-rich, vegetated harbour multiple copies genes related cold tolerance, particularly involved DNA replication repair. Based on phylogenetic, biogeographic, ecological characteristics 12 MAGs, which include a high-quality MAG (90.8% complete, 3.9% redundant) with nearly complete 16S rRNA gene, propose novel Candidatus genus, Ca. Nitrosopolaris, species representing clear biogeographic/habitat clusters.

Context Bacillus subtilis (BS) is a widely used microbial agent that could improve soil fertility and microenvironment. There still uncertainty about the suitability of BS for cultivating crops with high demand nitrogen fertiliser. Aims To evaluate effects on community diversity nitrogen-cycling genes in mulberry rhizosphere soil. Methods Pot experiments were conducted. Abstract We describe the genome of an Eremiobacterota population from tundra soil that contains minimal set nif genes needed to fix atmospheric N 2 . This putative diazotroph population, which we name Candidatus Lamibacter sapmiensis, links for first time and fixation. The integrity its are well supported by both environmental taxonomic signals.
