Research has shown that complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD) differs from (PTSD) on core symptoms relating to the individual’s sense of self, and this driven need for treatment approaches address these specific features cPTSD. The COVID-19 pandemic led increased use digital-based interventions (DBIs) treat mental illnesses, including trauma-related disorders. However, while evidence DBIs PTSD previously been synthesized, current review is first synthesis research A systematic search Scopus, PsychINFO, EBSCOhost was conducted, using terms targeting “cPTSD” “DBIs,” identify cPTSD symptoms. Ten papers were identified, which provided preliminary efficacy reduce Further, reported as acceptable by individuals with a history trauma. paper also provides insight into therapeutic adopted, digital modalities utilized, safety measures included, whether/to what degree support provided. While show promise treating cPTSD, there substantial room advancement empirical base approaches. Both clinical research-based recommendations are separately.

Background: The International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ) is a validated measure that assesses ICD-11 posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD). An important task to determine whether the ITQ an appropriate evaluative for clinical trials. Objective: To assess psychometric properties of in context treatment if measures reliable clinically significant change over course psychosocial intervention.Method: Analyses were based on data from online skills training programme delivered 254 U.S. Veterans. Reliability validity scores assessed at baseline. Changes symptom probable diagnostic rates compared pre-, mid- post-treatment. A index (RCI) score was computed classify participants as improved, unchanged, or worsened. PCL-5 used comparison measure. Results: Baseline concurrent factorial similar previous studies. Internal consistency each assessment excellent comparable PCL-5. Decline symptoms pre-to-post-treatment CPTSD profiles. Rate (PTSD CPTSD) declined significantly pre-treatment Pre-to-post declines exceeded critical RCI values ITQ. Clinically changes observed where most some stayed same, few performance consistent with regarding sensitivity change. Conclusion: This study provides first demonstration treatment-related symptoms.

<b><i>Introduction:</i></b> Complex PTSD (CPTSD) is a relatively new condition in ICD-11. This pilot randomised controlled trial aimed to compare four-module intervention developed target all symptoms of ICD-11 CPTSD, namely Enhanced Skills Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (ESTAIR) with treatment as usual (TAU). The purpose the study was assess feasibility, safety, acceptability, preliminary outcomes at end 3-month follow-up. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> A total <i>N</i> = 56 eligible veterans CPTSD were either ESTAIR (<i>n</i> 28) or TAU 28). Linear mixed models conducted severity, primary outcome, measured by International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ). <b><i>Results:</i></b> Treatment dropout low equivalent (18% vs. 11%; <i>χ</i>2 (1) 1.19, <i>p</i> 0.275), retention high, supporting feasibility study. No serious adverse effects very few occurred, none which deemed related provided significantly greater reduction severity across time for ITQ (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001) DSO symptoms. pre-to-post effect sizes large (PTSD <i>d</i> 1.78; 2.00). Remission probable diagnosis post-treatment substantially compared only 13.6% versus 84% retaining diagnosis. <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> indicates potential efficacy well its acceptability.

Appropriate screening tools are required to accurately detect complex post traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD). This systematic review aimed assess and compare measurement tools. A literature search using key words 'complex disorder', 'PTSD', 'assessment' was undertaken on Embase PsychINFO during February 2022 by two reviewers. Inclusion criteria included full text papers between 2002–2022 which evaluated CPTSD assessment Exclusion reviews, editorials, meta-analyses, or conference abstracts. Twenty-two met selection criteria. Thirteen studies used the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ). Two each with Interview (ITI) Symptoms of Scale (SOTS). The Developmental Inventory (DTI), Cameron Complex (CCTI), PTSD Item Set additional Clinician Administered (COPISAC), (ComplexTQ), 8 Minnesota Multiphasic Personality (MMPI) were a single study each. ITQ most thoroughly investigated, validated across different populations, is convenient questionnaire for within clinical setting. Where self-report measures inappropriate, ITI, SOTS, COPISAC interview CPTSD. However, they require further validation should be alongside history examination.
