The potential of exercise as a concurrent therapy for actively treated primary tumors has been suggested by emerging preclinical and observational studies. However, clinical trials regarding this question are scarce. Therefore, we conducted randomized controlled trial investigating the effects aerobic or resistance concomitant to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) on tumor size. IN THE BENEFIT STUDY (GERMAN TITLE: BEwegung bei NEoadjuvanter Chemotherapie zur Verbesserung der FITness), patients with breast cancer scheduled NACT were randomly assigned supervised training (RT, n = 60) (AT, twice weekly during waitlist control group (WCG, 60). outcome, "change in size", well secondary outcomes pathologic complete response (pCR), type surgery (breast conserving/mastectomy), axillary lymph node dissection (ALND, yes/no), premature discontinuation (yes/no), relative dose intensity (RDI) derived from records. Due highly skewed distribution, outcome was categorized. Multiple (ordinal) logistic regression analyses performed. Overall, there no significant difference post-intervention size between RT AT WCG. effect modification hormone receptor (HR) status (pinteraction 0.030). Among HR+ tumors, results suggest beneficial shrinkage (odds ratio (OR) 2.37, 95%CI: 0.97‒5.78), pCR (OR 3.21, 0.97‒10.61); ALND 3.76, 0.78‒18.06) compared slightly less pronounced. For HR- subtypes, RDI found 3.71, 1.20‒11.50) similarly 2.58, 0.88‒7.59). Both had favorable (no vs. yes) 2.34, 1.10‒5.06), irrespective status. While overall group, seem beneficially affect pCR, reduce need among cancers, prevent low cancers. These warrant confirmation further trials.

The prognostic significance of the C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index in digestive system neoplasms (DSNs) has been investigated several studies, but inconsistencies remain between results different studies. Therefore, aim this study was to confirm CALLY patients with DSNs and its association clinicopathological characteristics (CPCs). databases PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web Science, Research Square Embase were systematically searched for clinical trials up 1 November 2024. value predicting overall survival (OS), disease-free (DFS) recurrence-free (RFS) versus cancer-specific (CSS) confirmed by calculating combined hazard ratio (HR) 95% CI. OR CI calculated assess CPCs DSNs. A total 18 studies 7916 included study. Pooled analysis showed that lower associated poor OS, DFS, RFS CSS significantly associated. In addition, low male gender, T3-T4, lymph node metastasis, vessel invasion, complications, stage III-IV surgical approach However, there no histological type, adjuvant chemotherapy, neoadjuvant chemotherapy. meta-analysis, a PROSPERO CRD42024622973.

A systematic search was conducted identify guidelines and published in last 15 years dedicated cancer patients. The AGREE II instrument used assess methodological quality of guidelines. Results are presented as qualitative synthesis. total 11 met inclusion criteria. Seven were considered high quality, scoring ≥60% tool. All recommended include aerobic resistance training types activities. Regarding dosage, most suggested a generic 150minutes/week moderate-intensity plus twice week. Three reported instructions exercise prescription, including frequency, intensity, duration sessions. Six testing/medical clearance instructions, 9 provided considerations adaptation/precautions, 7 detailed specialists referral. Four motivational aspects related Although important steps have been made more recent recommendations, effort is needed produce high-quality research exercise-oncology field, ultimate aim developing tailored

Culinary Medicine (CM) is an avenue for interdisciplinary nutrition education intervention utilizing the expertise of dietitians, physicians, and other health care professionals (HCP). Despite positive impacts that CM interventions can have on health, physician knowledge lacking due in part to inadequate medical school curriculum. as a modality promotes disease management patients providers, so it critical increase competency CM. This pilot study evaluated impact cancer prevention specific curriculum students' (i) risk reduction (CRR) knowledge, (ii) CRR assessment/counseling attitudes self-efficacy clinical care, (iii) personal behaviors cooking skills. Thirty-one 2nd year students (CALM students) participated seven, 3-hour focused sessions were compared 55 non-enrolled (control group). Education incorporated lecture, learning activity, experience topics including dietary patterns, gut inflammation, metabolic hormone balance, environmental exposures, practice/at home. A 46-item online pre-test (09/23) post-test (03/24) survey assessed standardized measures general nutrition/cancer attitudes/beliefs, perceived control around diet/ lifestyle modifications; intentions integrating strategies practice. 78 (91%) completed both surveys findings indicate CALM showed significant improvement over their peers scores (β = 0.265, t 2.14, p < 0.05), toward setting 0.203, 2.00, 0.05) confidence patient 0.401, 4.05, 0.001). Given lifetime developing high Americans (~40%), implementation providers must be emphasized. If research continues demonstrate success future cohorts, innovative approach teaching HCP applicable numerous states.
