Aquatic foods play a pivotal role in transforming food systems. As the world's leading producer, consumer, and trader of aquatic products, China's potential for sustainable supply consumption is critical to understand. The aim this study was depict dynamic trends products consequences diets environmental impacts. A panel dataset about Chinese covering period from 1952 2023 drawn analysis. Diet sustainability assessed with deviation Dietary Guidelines Residents (2022) EAT-Lancet recommendations. impacts products' were using carbon footprints water footprints. findings reveal that increased 4.65 million tons 71.16 1978 2023, annual per capita 3.50 kg 15.20 kg. While overall meets needs, structural imbalances persist at provincial level. Over time, influence marine fishery has declined 1.06 (63.63%) 35.85 (50.38%) whereas offshore aquaculture shows promising meeting future demands (23.96 accounting 66.82% production). To align healthy dietary goals environmentally systems, demand across China adjusted. both current adjusted patterns also assessed. results indicate adjusting based on recommendations could reduce different degrees. offer valuable references insights into developing strategies product management advancing system transformation.

Abstract The aquaculture sector is facing environmental issues because of rising chemical pollution aquatic systems, which may be caused by man-made or natural causes. combined action these mixtures can produce an effect that either severalfold higher lower than the overall toxicity individual components. objective this study to evaluate impact three toxicants: lead (Pb 0.088 mg L −1 ), mercury (Hg 0.084 and pendimethalin (PM 0.355 ) their combinations on behavior, oxidative stress, immunology, biochemistry, histopathological changes in Nile tilapia. results show mortality was evident across all treatment groups highest mixture (MIX) group, at 33.4%. Some behavioral included increased mucus secretion, fin rot, dark skin coloration fish, were evidently exacerbated MIX group. erythrocyte hemoglobin indices presented marked reductions PM comparison control group had levels serum creatinine urea, as well liver enzymes alanine aminotransferase, aspartate transaminase, alkaline phosphatase. They also malondialdehyde total antioxidant capacity, showed stress. stress biomarkers, cortisol glucose, greater groups. neurobehavioral assessment demonstrated noticeable decreased acetylcholinesterase MIX-exposed In immunological parameters, nitric oxide lysozyme lower, especially experimental groups, spleen pro-inflammatory cytokine genes higher. examination revealed lesions gills, liver, brains form inflammation, necrosis, circulatory alterations. Among exposed exhibited changes. Collectively, our findings significant toxic effects heavy metals herbicides tilapia, revealing a synergistic both physiological responses resulting from exposures. data indicate ecological hazards associated with ecosystems.

The holobiome is an interconnected network of microbial ecosystems spanning soil, plants, animals, humans, and the environment. Microbial interactions drive nutrient cycling, pathogen suppression, climate regulation. Soil microbiomes facilitate carbon sequestration enhance soil fertility, while marine contribute to capture stability. However, industrial agriculture, extensive herbicide use, antibiotic overuse, change threaten diversity, leading ecosystem health disruptions. Probiotic interventions help restore balance. In human health, probiotics support gut microbiota reduce inflammation, regulate metabolism. improve degrade contaminants, increasing crop yields health. Case studies show that inoculants effectively remediate degraded soils uptake. Artificial intelligence transforming microbiome research by enabling predictive modeling, precision probiotic design, consortia optimization. Interdisciplinary collaboration supportive policies are essential for restoring equilibria, ensuring resilience, promoting long-term sustainability. integration artificial intelligence, clinical research, sustainable practices crucial advancing science. framework underscores need interdisciplinary address global challenges, bridging environmental sustainability, public a resilient future.

To clarify the influence of changes in overlying water environment on internal nitrogen release from reservoir sediments, we collected surface sediments at a depth approximately 10 cm Sunxi River tail area Three Gorges Reservoir for simulation experiments. By using orthogonal experiments laboratory, studied effects pH, temperature and hydraulic disturbance sediment established quantitative linear relationship between rate environmental factors water. The results indicated that average concentrations total (TN) phosphorus (TP) were 430 mg/kg 200 mg/kg, respectively. TN concentration had very significant positive correlation with organic matter content (P < 0.001). TN, NO3-N NH4-N intensities gradually increased increasing incubation time, maximum rates 29.24 mg/((m2⋅d), 23.11 mg/(m2⋅d) 4.32 Range analysis revealed significance ranked as follows: > pH disturbance, was disturbance. Temperature plays most important role behavior different forms sediments. capacity potential offer crucial insights assessing risks posed to highlighting importance these quality management prediction area.

Introduction Climate change poses numerous issues for indigenous populations in tropical cities worldwide, including reduced access to food, dwindling resources, and the proliferation of vector-borne illnesses. Indigenous communities are developing various mitigation adaptation measures suitable their distinct cultural ecological demands. Methods This study investigates climate strategies (ICCMSs) being deployed cities, using secondary sources data. The methodology involved a systematic review based on PRISMA guidelines, encompassing identification, screening, eligibility, inclusion relevant literature. From an initial 1,200 sources, 450 were screened, 102 met criteria full-text assessment. Results Findings indicate that common ICCMSs include use traditional knowledge systems materials urban green infrastructure projects, agroforestry, sustainable agriculture, afforestation reforestation, technologies innovations waste management practices. peoples have benefited from greater education understanding about change, empowering them take action lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Discussion recommends governments international organizations support these efforts, incorporate into public policy planning reduce global anthropogenic GHG Further studies suggested assess effectiveness potential enhance resilience cities.
