Most of the variance in human microbiome remains unexplained. Although an extensive list individual lifestyles shaping has been identified, important gaps knowledge persist. data are from individuals living socioeconomically developed countries. This may have skewed interpretation and its relationship to health disease. Moreover, striking under-representation minority groups studies is a missed opportunity assess context, history changing nature relation risk Therefore, we focus here on areas recent progress - ageing ethnicity both which contribute with particular lessons for promise microbiome-based diagnostics therapeutics.

Humans often show variable responses to dietary, prebiotic, and probiotic interventions. Emerging evidence indicates that the gut microbiota is a key determinant for this population heterogeneity. Here, we provide an overview of some major computational experimental tools being applied critical questions microbiota-mediated personalized nutrition health. First, discuss latest advances in silico modeling microbiota-nutrition-health axis, including application statistical, mechanistic, hybrid artificial intelligence models. Second, address high-throughput vitro techniques assessing interindividual heterogeneity, from ex vivo batch culturing stool continuous anaerobic bioreactors, more sophisticated organ-on-a-chip models integrate both host microbial compartments. Third, explore approaches better understanding personalized, diet, prebiotics, probiotics, nonhuman animal human observational studies, feeding trials crossover We highlight examples existing, consumer-facing precision platforms are currently leveraging microbiota. Furthermore, how integration broader set described piece can generate data necessary support greater diversity strategies. Finally, present vision healthcare future, which leverages design effective, individual-specific

The core microbiome, which refers to a set of consistent microbial features across populations, is major interest in microbiome research and has been addressed by numerous studies. Understanding the can help identify elements that lead dysbiosis, treatments for microbiome-related health states. However, defining complex task at several levels. In this review, we consider current state human research. We knowledge gained, factors limiting our ability achieve reliable description fields most likely improve ability. DNA sequencing technologies methods analyzing metagenomics amplicon data will facilitate higher accuracy resolution describing microbiome. more effort should be invested characterizing microbiome's interactions with its host, including immune system nutrition. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic immune-mediated disease caused by genetic and environmental factors. It often characterized the generation of autoantibodies that lead to synovial inflammation eventual multi-joint destruction. A growing number studies have shown significant differences in gut microbiota composition rheumatoid (RA) patients compared healthy controls. Environmental factors, changes diet nutrition are thought play role developing this dysbiosis. This review aims summarize current knowledge intestinal dysbiosis, nutritional its implications pathogenesis autoimmunity. The future direction focuses on microbiome manipulation therapeutics for RA management.

Human microbiome variation is linked to the incidence, prevalence, and mortality of many diseases associates with race ethnicity in United States. However, age at which variability emerges between these groups remains a central gap knowledge. Here, we identify that gut associated arises after 3 months persists through childhood. One-third bacterial taxa vary across caregiver-identified racial categories children are reported also adults. Machine learning modeling childhood microbiomes from 8 cohort studies (2,756 samples 729 children) distinguishes ethnic 87% accuracy. Importantly, predictive genera among top 30 most important when used predict adult self-identified ethnicity. Our results highlight critical developmental window or shortly social environmental factors drive ethnicity-associated may contribute health disparities.

Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers constitute more than 33% of new cancer cases worldwide and pose a considerable burden on public health. There exists growing body evidence that has systematically recorded an upward trajectory in GI malignancies within the last 5 to 10 years, thus presenting formidable menace health human population. The perturbations microbiota may have noteworthy influence advancement cancers; however, precise mechanisms behind this association are still not comprehensively understood. Some bacteria been observed support development, while others seem provide safeguard against it. Recent studies indicated alterations composition abundance microbiomes could be associated with progression various cancers, such as colorectal, gastric, hepatic, esophageal cancers. Within comprehensive analysis, we examine significance microbiomes, particularly those located intestines, Furthermore, explore impact treatment modalities for cancer, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy. Additionally, delve into intricate through which intestinal microbes efficacy treatments.
