Abstract
Purpose
of
review
Migrant
and
ethnic
minority
(MEM)
outdoor
workers
might
be
at
increased
risk
for
heat-related
illnesses
(HRI),
due
to
environmental
exposures,
heavy
physical
work,
limited
control
over
workplace
conditions
language
cultural
barriers.
This
aims
synthesize
the
literature
on
health
impacts
occupational
heat
exposure
among
MEM
workers,
including
factors,
perception
behaviour
healthcare
utilization.
Recent
findings
Seventy-six
publications
were
included.
Most
conducted
in
US,
where
weighted
prevalence
least
one
HRI
symptom
was
48.8%.
These
numbers
higher
most
non-US
countries.
On
average,
60.9%
reported
being
concerned
about
60.4%
having
had
training.
Many
drinking
more
water
when
hot
(91.7%)
feeling
comfortable
taking
breaks
(92%)
while
fewer
acclimatizing
start
season
(43.7%)
or
changing
working
hours
(34%)
activities
(32.2%)
heat.
