Abstract Background Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lung is a distinctive salivary-gland-type malignant epithelial neoplasm that rarely presents as primary tumor respiratory tract. Lung tumor is the first malignant with highest mortality, but only no more than one-third of patients can be treated by surgical resection. Microwave ablation (MWA) has become a new adjuvant therapeutic mean for lung tumors because its low trauma, short treatment time, large volume and wide application range. Self-expandable metallic (SEM) airway stents are an important approach to treating malignant central obstruction (CAO). Standard over-the-while (OTW) stent needs the guidance of a guide-wire. It should be implanted under flouroscopy or bronchoscope visualization. In this study, we evaluated operation time and safety between OTW novel through-the-scope (TTS) SEM stent.In multi-center, randomized, parallel-group superiority CAO patients were enrolled randomly assigned (2:1) TTS implantation group (TTS group) standard (OTW in six sites across China.
