Abstract
Most
Americans
perceive
lysergic
acid
diethylamide
(LSD)
to
be
a
high-risk
drug,
despite
infrequent
serious
adverse
events
associated
with
its
use.
Though
LSD
use
is
rising
in
the
United
States,
little
known
about
whether
perceived
risk
of
(prLSD)
changing
or
factors
influencing
prLSD.
Using
National
Survey
on
Drug
Use
and
Health
data
from
2015–2019,
we
investigated
correlates
temporal
trends
On
multivariable
modeling
for
respondents
18
years
age
older,
lower
prLSD
was
with,
among
other
factors,
later
survey
year,
personal
use,
younger
age,
higher
education
level,
male
gender,
identifying
as
sexual
minority,
having
less
self-influential
religious
beliefs,
past
year
psychological
distress.

Psychedelic
medicine
is
an
emerging
field
that
examines
entheogens,
psychoactive
substances
produce
non-ordinary
states
of
consciousness
(NOSC).
3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine
(MDMA)
currently
in
phase-3
FDA
clinical
trials
the
United
States
(US)
and
Canada
to
treat
symptoms
posttraumatic
stress
disorder
(PTSD).
MDMA
used
conjunction
with
manualized
therapy,
because
its
effectiveness
reducing
fear-driven
stimuli
contribute
trauma
anxiety
symptoms.

2017,
designated
as
a
"breakthrough
therapy,"
signaling
it
has
advantages

efficacy,

medication

anxiety-related
disorders

ABSTRACT
We
investigated
the
content,
consistency
and
accuracy
(i.e.,
convergence
with
self‐assessment)

stereotypes
about
recreational
users
common
psychoactive
substances.

Background

study

the
first
to
examine
race,
ethnic,

sex
differences
in
prevalence
