Relevance. Surface electromyography (sEMG) is a method used to record the bioelectrical activity of masticatory muscles both at rest and during movement. This generates relative metrics (indices) that reflect relationship between biopotentials individual muscle pairs. The objective this study was explore activation patterns temporal masseter different test movements, as expressed by variations in index values, while accounting for correlations among metrics. Materials methods. performed on 165 participants aged 18 25 years. involved following tests: “Physiological rest”, “Habitual occlusion”, “Maximal voluntary clenching dental arches”, cotton rolls”. Indices were calculated characterize distribution homologous (symmetry indices) pairs (the static stabilizing occlusal mandibular lateral displacement index). Initially, divided into three groups 20 individuals each based (TORS) values recorded rest” test. Data compared across these groups. Subsequently, same again each, TORS obtained occlusion” test, results procedure repeated indices derived from arches” rolls” tests. ultimately examined 12 categorized (%) four ≤80% (groups 1, 4, 7, 10), 95–105% 2, 5, 8, 11), ≥120% 3, 6, 9, 12). mean measured determine statistically significant differences. Introduction. Research by foreign scientists often present the results of studies effects specific osteopathic techniques on body. Myofascial are dynamic low-amplitude in which myofascial complex tissues is rhythmically stretched areas where their mobility limited. Due to the limitations of standard wet Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) hydrogel electrodes and growing demand for long-term high fidelity surface electromyography (EMG) recording, dry epidermal are great interest. Evaluating usability signal could help determine extent potential applications using EMG electrodes. We collected signals over eight days from right rectus femoris seven subjects single-use traditional Ag/AgCl while covered uncovered during dynamic movements (leg extension, sit-to-stand, treadmill walking at 0.75 m/s 1.30 m/s). quantified signal-to-noise ratio (SNR); signal-to-motion (SMR); a metric we previously developed, Signal Quality Index, which considers that better quality requires both good ratio. Wear patterns degraded quality. Uncovered remained intact maintained adhesion skin had ratios, Index values were above acceptable thresholds limited lower limb extension sit-to-stand). This indicated provide across all five these movements. For walking, ratios still threshold, but far below thresholds. The showed no visible wear was stable days. As expected, covering improved quality, only Overall, able maintain recording movements, further improvement is needed reduce motion artifacts whole body such as walking.

Alternatives to conventional wet Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) hydrogel electrodes could greatly improve the ability record long-term surface electromyography (sEMG). This paper presents preliminary evaluation of dry epidermal electronic system (EES) over 8 days measurements. We tested 3 subjects and recorded sEMG signals right rectus femoris during static dynamic tasks from traditional Ag/AgCl electrodes. For that remained intact maintained adhesion skin, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values were greater than 16.9 dB signal-to-motion (SMR) 13.1 dB, which both above accepted thresholds for good signal quality (SNR > 15 SMR 12dB). also developed a new metric, Signal Quality Index, SQI help determine whether higher SNR or necessarily indicative better EMG quality. Our results indicated single use able maintain high suggested have potential recording.
