Abstract
This
chapter
explains
how
a
network
of
California
parents
and
civil
society
organizations
worked
with
elected
officials
to
eliminate
nonmedical
exemptions.
Parent
activists
responded
outbreaks
in
their
communities
by
mobilizing
against
the
permissive
attitude
that
California’s
government
took
toward
vaccine
refusal.

Disneyland
measles
outbreak
2014,
pro-vaccine
contacted
Dr.
Richard
Pan,
state
senator
who
had
led
successful
efforts

exemptions
2012.

COVID-19
vaccine

widely

but
concerns
around
acceptance
and
political
polarisation
prevail.
We
sought
to
determine
the
willingness
of
Australians
take
a

prospective)
vaccine,

with
their
previously
recorded
opinions
about
other
vaccines.

Vaccine
hesitancy
is
a
global
problem
with
diverse
local
policy
responses,
from
voluntaristic
to
coercive.
Between
2015
and
2017,
California,
Australia,
France,
Italy
increased

coerciveness

their
childhood
vaccine
regimes.

this
apparent
convergence,
there
little
evidence
imposition,
learning,

diffusion

on

Vaccination
hesitancy
is
considered

World
Health
Organization
as
a
danger
to
global
health.

recent
years,
vaccine
rates
COVID-19
have
been
studied
worldwide.

study,
we
aim
provide
an
overview
of
concept
hesitancy,
with
regard
post-COVID

management
strategies.

PubMed
database.

papers
found
were
divided
into
two
groups:

2021

Papers
about
hesitation
phenomenon
are

more
common
during
SARS-CoV-2
pandemic
following
marketing
that
companies
carried
out
on
different
types
vaccines.

hesitancy

corresponding
use
of
