Nigella Sativa (N. sativa) also known as black cumin seed and their active component thymoquinone are used anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial anticancer treatments. This study was aimed to synthesizes, characterize compare the antibacterial activity of biologically synthesized nano (Tb-NPs) chemically (Tc-NPs). The synthesis nano-thymoquinone (nTQ) by chemical method based on wet milling technique biological using N. sativa seeds extract. nTQ characterized UV, FTIR FESEM analysis. effects Tc-NPs Tb-NPs were evaluated against common antibiotic resistant organisms (Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci faecalis, Klebsiella species E. coli) agar well diffusion. results obtained from UV spectra analysis showed highly intense absorption for both at 242 nm 319 respectively. spectrum characteristics peaks five different regions. micro/nano fibers homogeneously distributed spherical agglomerates that unevenly distributed. cytotoxicity assay potential Tb NPs with minimal concentration Tc NPs. Additionally these particles removal bacterial fungal pathogens increased zone inhibition. concluded biosynthesized have shown more because ability remove microbial increase cancer cell death. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus that causes disease 2019 (COVID-19). This illness was declared pandemic by the world health organization (WHO) in March 2020, just few weeks after being described for first time. Since then, global research effort has considerably increased humanity’s knowledge about both viruses and disease. It also spawned several vaccines have proven to be key tools attenuating spread of severity COVID-19. However, with vaccine-related skepticism on rise, as well breakthrough infections vaccinated population threat complete immune escape variant, alternative strategies fight against SARS-CoV-2 are urgently required. Calcium signals long been known play an essential role infection diverse thus constitute promising avenue further therapeutic strategies. In this review, we introduce pivotal calcium signaling viral cascades. Based this, discuss prospective calcium-related treatment targets cure COVID-19 exploit dependence signals.

Black cumin seeds and seed oil have long been used in traditional foods medicine South Asian, Middle Eastern Mediterranean countries are valuable flavor ingredients. An important ingredient of black is the small molecule thymoquinone (TQ), which manifests low toxicity potential therapeutic activity against a wide number diseases including diabetes, cancer neurodegenerative disorders. In this study, antioxidant activities oil, TQ related found cumin, thymohydroquinone (THQ), were measured using direct electrochemical method to experimentally evaluate their superoxide scavenging action. showed good ability, while THQ did not. Density Functional Theory (DFT) computational methods applied arrive at chemical mechanism describing these results, confirmed experimental Rotating Ring Disk Electrode (RRDE) findings that oxidation O2 by feasible, contrast with THQ, does not scavenge superoxide. Additionally, thorough inquiry into unusual cyclic voltammetry pattern exhibited was studied associated formation 1:1 TQ-superoxide radical species, [TQ-O2]-•. DFT calculations reveal species be involved π-π reactivity The crystal structures analyzed, data presence stacking intermolecular interactions can All three essential for us explains activity, incorporates features structure correlates activity.

Black cumin (Nigella sativa L.) (family Ranunculaceae) is a largely utilized therapeutic herb worldwide. This comprehensive review discusses the pharmacological benefits of black seed oil, focusing on its bioactive component thymoquinone (TQ). The structured as follows: First, we examine antimicrobial properties followed by an analysis antioxidant capabilities. Finally, explore potential, particularly in neurodegenerative diseases and COVID-19. Phytochemicals from N. have exhibited potential for developing novel preventive strategies against jaundice, gastrointestinal disorders, skin diseases, anorexia, conjunctivitis, dyspepsia, intrinsic hemorrhage, amenorrhea, paralysis, rheumatism, diabetes, hypertension, fever, influenza, eczema, asthma, cough, bronchitis, headache. broader spectrum application essential bioactives certainly enhanced commercial value this oil. TQ, major constituent has numerous beneficial properties. Researchers extensively studied oil component, TQ. These studies revealed wide range properties, including anticancer, immunomodulatory, analgesic, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory effects. Additionally, TQ shown neuroprotective, spasmolytic, bronchodilatory, hepatoprotective, renoprotective, gastroprotective, activities.

Black cumin or black seed (Nigella sativa L.) is a popular medicinal herb and culinary spice belonging to Ranunculacea family. Thymoquinone (TQ) the major active phytoconstituent in abundant volatile oil fraction. Though containing low TQ content (less than 1%) has been clinically investigated, clinical efficacy safety data of TQ-rich limited. A recent study with formulation 5% (BCO-5) exhibited significant alleviate sleep disorders stress. So, present phase 1 randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial evaluated BCO-5 at dose 200 mg/adult/day for 90 days on healthy subjects (n = 70). Both biochemical hematological parameters were analysed along adverse events side effects establish BCO-5. The reported neither serious nor any alterations parameters. absence changes related liver function (ALT, AST, ALP), renal (serum creatinine urea) also observed. However, analysis lipid profile showed (P < 0.05) reduction total cholesterol, LDL, VLDL triglycerides, but within normal range. In conclusion, safe human consumption may be various health beneficial pharmacological activities where shown have positive effects.

Melanoma is responsible for the highest number of skin cancer-caused deaths worldwide. Despite numerous melanoma-treating options, fight against it remains challenging, mainly due to its great heterogeneity and plasticity, as well high toxicity standard drugs. Plant-derived terpenoids are a group plant defense molecules that have been proven effective in killing many different types cancer cells, both vitro experiments vivo models. In this review, we focus on recent results search with anti-melanoma activity. We also report synergistic action combining other plant-derived substances, MAP kinase inhibitors, or radiation. Additionally, present examples terpenoid-loaded nanoparticle carriers agents increased permeation through tissue.
