Curcumin, a natural polyphenolic component from Curcuma longa roots, is the main bioactive of turmeric spice and has gained increasing interest due to its proposed anti-cancer, anti-obesity, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, lipid-lowering effects, in addition thermogenic capacity.
