COVID-19 is a contagious, severe acute respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2. In this review, we have updated nature and evolution of SARS-CoV-2 from earlier coronaviruses, highlighting rate mutation pathogenicity virus over time. The long-term pathophysiological consequences due to application limitations repurposing previously established drugs used for treatment related symptoms been discussed efficacy newly developed vaccines against COVID-19. But these certain including post-COVID complications like tissue damage organ failure. We also summarized role natural supplements, physical exercise, yoga, adequate sleep. Additionally, possibilities using mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes, in failure elaborated, however, further research on manipulating exosomes regeneration healing required.

Adequate amounts of a wide range micronutrients are needed by body tissues to maintain health. Dietary intake must be sufficient meet these micronutrient requirements. Mineral deficiency does not seem the result physically active life or athletic training but is more likely arise from disturbances in quality and quantity ingested food. The lack some minerals appears symbolic modern era reflecting either excessive empty calories negative energy balance drastic weight-loss diets. Several animal studies provide convincing evidence for an association between dietary availability microbial composition gut. However, influence human gut microbiota on bioaccessibility bioavailability trace elements food has rarely been studied. Bacteria play role effecting mineral bioaccessibility, which further increased through fermentation cereals soaking germination crops. Moreover, probiotics have positive effect iron, calcium, selenium, zinc relation microbiome metabolism. current literature reveals beneficial effects bacteria supporting both overall This review focuses interactions several sport nutrition, as related lifestyle.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic constitutes an arduous global health challenge, and the increasing number of fatalities calls for speedy pursuit a remedy. This review emphasizes changing aspects disease, featuring cytokine storm's pathological processes. Furthermore, we briefly reviewed potential therapeutic agents that may modulate alleviate storms. literature exploration was made using PubMed, Embase, MEDLINE, Google scholar, China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases to retrieve most recent on etiology, diagnostic markers, possible prophylactic options management storm in patients hospitalized with disease. causative agent, severe acute respiratory coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), continually threatens efficiency immune system infected individuals. As first responder, innate provides primary protection against COVID-19, affecting disease's progression, clinical outcome, prognosis. Evidence suggests associated are primarily due hyper-inflammation aberrant function. Accordingly, magnitude release pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-1, (IL-6), tumor necrosis alpha (TNF-α) significantly differentiate between mild cases COVID-19. early prediction is by several serum chemistry hematological markers. prompt use these markers diagnosis aggressive prevention syndrome critical determining level morbidity fatality prophylaxis rapid treatment clinicians will enhance fight dreaded Keywords: SARS-CoV-2, storm, hyper-inflammation,

The aim this scoping review is to summarize dietary supplement use globally during two years pandemic. A systematic search was conducted in December 2021 following PRISMA guidelines. PubMed, ERIC, Scopus databases were searched, 956 results screened for eligibility. Fourteen cross-sectional studies from 11 countries 3 continents examined. All large population surveys investigating healthy eating COVID-19. Vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc multivitamins most widely reported, as well natural/herbal products such ginger honey. reason cited supplements strengthen immune system prevent infection These reported that populations are relying on healthcare providers, family, friends, social media learn about use. Due to the known anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects of zinc, 25(OH)D, vitamin B12, in this study, we explored association between serum levels these micronutrients coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients at time admission clinical outcomes. This study was carried out on 293 with COVID-19, who were hospitalized Imam Hassan hospital (Bojnourd, Iran). We collected demographic data, characteristics, values biochemical parameters first week admission, outcomes from electronic medical records. also measured B12 within 3 days admission. Of hospitalized, median age 53 years, 147 (50.17%) female. Thirty-seven (12.62%) admitted intensive care unit (ICU), forty-two (14.32%) died. found that 25(OH)D lower died than those ICU or non-ICU survived; however, differences not statistically significant for (p > 0.05). The concentrations did affect length stay COVID-19. In general, it seems especially zinc can COVID-19 patients.

Selenium (Se) and zinc (Zn) are essential trace elements needed for appropriate immune system responses, cell signalling anti-viral defence. A cross-sectional observational study was conducted at two hospitals in Ghent, Belgium, to investigate whether Se and/or Zn deficiency upon hospital admission correlates disease severity mortality risk COVID-19 patients with or without co-morbidities. Trace element concentrations along additional biomarkers were determined serum plasma associated outcome. An insufficient status a higher rate more severe course the entire group, especially senior population. In comparison healthy European adults, displayed strongly depressed total (mean ± SD: 59.2 20.6 vs. 84.4 23.4 µg L−1) SELENOP 2.2 1.9 4.3 1.0 mg admission. Particularly strong associations observed death of cancer, diabetes chronic cardiac low status, obese deficiency. composite biomarker based on Se, proved be reliable tool predict death, mild course. We conclude that assessment may contribute better stratification other similar infectious diseases, support clinical care, therapeutic interventions adjuvant supplementation needs, prove particular relevance relevant comorbidities.

Aims: Ivermectin is a safe, inexpensive and effective early COVID-19 treatment validated in 20+ random, controlled trials. Having developed combination therapies for Helicobacter pylori, the authors present highly therapeutic combination, stemming from clinical observations. Patients & methods: In 24 subjects refusing hospitalization with high-risk features, hypoxia untreated moderate to severe symptoms averaging 9 days, administered this novel of ivermectin, doxycycline, zinc vitamins D C. Results conclusions: All resolved (in 11 days on average), oxygen saturation improved h (87.4% 93.1%; p = 0.001). There were no hospitalizations or deaths, less than (p < 0.002 0.05, respectively) background-matched CDC database controls. Triple therapy safe even when used outpatients symptoms. Clinical Trial Registration: NCT04482686 (ClinicalTrial.gov).
