We used 26 items paper-based questionnaire quantitative to collect data on intelligence, from health sciences students (N = 338) enrolled courses universities Hunan province China. included self-awareness, regulation emotion; skills were also examined. A partial least squares structural-equation modeling was applied SmartPLS software explore relationships. The results indicate self-motivation have direct, significant, connections Similarly, all four dimensions (self-awareness, emotion skills) had indirect, using mediator variable. concluded face higher-than-usual challenges building environments during COVID-19 pandemic, helps them develop their greater effect. it strengthens connection Therefore, recommended take specific measures enhance students' engagement, which will ultimately improve Moreover, valuable practical implications for teachers, practitioners, university management discussed study.
