To alleviate these issues, many researchers use the blockchain to justify those documents' authenticity. Getting certificates from different providers, putting them in order, then applying a job can take time effort. This study developed heterogeneous interoperability by which all applicants are linked this system list their deployed on various networks. Purpose Amidst the ongoing digital transformation in maritime industry, this study aims to interrogate application of electronic certification (e-certification) seafarers globally. Design/methodology/approach Data and methodological triangulation were used study. This included a scoping review analyze components effective e-certificates; document analysis evaluate nature functions international legal framework seafarers’ e-certification thematic statistical analyses responses from survey questionnaires interviews examine merits, demerits challenges global implementation e-certification. A modified Unified Theory Acceptance Use Technology (UTAUT) model was determine stakeholders’ usage behavior regarding Findings The results revealed several merits associated with e-certificates, outweighing presence certain drawbacks. It also identified various along potential solutions. Despite strong industry support for entire replacement traditional printed certificates concludes that coexistence both formats will persist until crucial are effectively addressed. Fabdvs: A Hyperledger Fabric-Based Document Verification and Sharing Framework DOI

Traditional document verification processes suffer from inefficiencies due to their time-consuming nature and reliance on manual intervention, making them susceptible errors. Moreover, of the same set documents multiple times incurs costs for owners. Blockchain-based frameworks have been proposed are in practice address some aforesaid challenges. However, most existing solutions rely public blockchains, suitable use cases but pose privacy challenges environments where a closed trusted ecosystem is essential. Furthermore, many these predominantly blockchain as an immutable data repository, overlooking its potential secure communication data-sharing platform participants processes. Additionally, they focus specific types, such identity or academic certificates, lack generality. This paper presents distributed sharing framework, called FabDVS, by leveraging open-source permissioned Hyperledger Fabric. FabDVS envisions connecting various issuing authorities, universities, recruiters, so private network streamlining while enhancing speed efficiency. The system ensures integrity confidentiality inheriting security, privacy, role-based access control features Fabric avoids repetitive document. performance analysis prototype implemented simulated environment shows that delay process minuscule thus convenient real-time cases.
