Intermittent fasting (IF) focuses on the timing of eating rather than diet quality or energy intake, with evidence supporting its effects weight loss and cardiometabolic outcomes in adults. However, there is limited for efficacy adolescents emerging To address this, a scoping review examined IF regimens individuals aged 10 to 25, focusing methodology, intervention parameters, outcomes, adherence, feasibility, efficacy. The included 39 studies 731 participants 15 25. Methodologies varied, 18 time-restricted others requiring caloric restriction. Primary risk factors (11/29), body composition (9/29), anthropometric measurements (8/29), feasibility (2/29). Most reported significant loss. This underscores IF's potential treating obesity this age group but highlights need rigorous standardized frameworks ensure comparability determine practicality group.

Background: This randomized controlled study sought to determine the effect of intermittent fasting on anthropometric measurements, fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-21, and autophagy markers, as well hepatic steatosis fibrosis levels in overweight or obese patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Methods: Patients were randomly assigned into two groups: received a dietary treatment involving 22–25 kcal/kg/day energy for 8 weeks followed same intervention 16:8 pattern. The extent was determined using transient elastography FibroScan® device. attenuation parameter (CAP) stiffness measurement (LSM), by elastography, reflect fibrosis, respectively. In duplicate, serum FGF-21, Beclin-1, ATG-5 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: included 48 mean age 48.2 ± 1.4 years (27 female 21 male). Improvements CAP LSM decrease FGF-21 found both groups (p < 0.05). Changes higher + time-restricted diet group Autophagy-related protein (ATG)-5 increased only [(0.74 (0.46–1.29) ng/mL vs. 0.95 (0.73–1.32) ng/mL, p = 0.03]. Conclusions: Intermittent potentially practical management MAFLD. particular, changes indicate potential regulate processes autophagy. However, methodological limitations should be taken consideration when interpreting results.

However, there is limited for feasibility efficacy young people. To address this, a scoping review was conducted to examine intermittent regimens individuals aged 10 25 treatment obesity focusing methodology, intervention parameters, outcomes, adherence, feasibility, efficacy. Due paucity this age group, adequately assess all published studies category, regardless status intention, were included review. The 34 (28 interventional 6 observational studies) 893 participants 12 25. Interventions varied 9 cohorts utilizing as an treatment. Thirteen utilized 8-h time-restricted eating. Primary risk factors (7/28), anthropometric measurements body composition (5/28), muscular performance (4/28), (1/28), others (4/28). All people reported some degree loss, although comparator groups significantly. This underscores various utilizations group highlights potential treating findings emphasize need rigorous standardized frameworks ensure comparability determine fasting's practicality depending outcome interest.

Dietary restriction (DR) has been reported to be a significant intervention that influences lipid metabolism and potentially modulates the aging process in wide range of organisms. Lipid plays pivotal role regulation longevity. In this review, we summarize studies on relation DR. As potent slow down aging, DR demonstrated promising effects metabolism, influencing processes across various species. The current review focuses relationships among DR-related molecular signaling proteins such as sirtuins, pathways target rapamycin insulin/insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1, aging. Furthermore, presents research results diet-associated changes cell membrane lipids alterations caused by commensal bacteria, highlighting importance Overall, explores interplay between diet, while presenting untapped areas for further understanding process.
