Background: This study evaluates the impact of temporary telemedicine implementation on primary care visits, which surged during COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea. Methods: was conducted using national claims data from February 24, 2020 to 23, 2021. The included 1,926,300 patients with acute mild respiratory diseases and 1,031,174 gastrointestinal diseases. compared medication prescriptions, follow-up visit patterns, safety outcomes, including admissions emergency departments (EDs), general wards (GWs), intensive units (ICUs), between in-person visits. Results: Telemedicine linked higher prescription rates for both conditions, levels antibiotics use, longer durations. Patients who had an initial consultation were more likely have within 1 day. Conversely, those inclined use their early second There no significant differences ED or ICU admissions, except a slight increase GW conditions. Conclusion: can effectively complement conditions without compromising patient safety, suggesting its potential broader integration into care. Further studies are recommended optimize address any long-term impacts health delivery.

Abstract Background the Istanbul Convention demands care to victims of violence while upholding forensic standards. Victims, however, often seek medical help at hospitals where availability experts is limited. This results in overlooked injuries and lost or damaged evidence, ultimately impacting court proceedings identification individuals risk. The aim this paper was establish real-time remote guidance for distant physicians during examination victims. Methods Augmented Reality Assisted Medical Evidence Collection Documentation (ARMED) established Heidelberg Institute Forensic Traffic Medicine (IFTM) 2023 as an innovative telementoring model. Video-teleconferencing components including a head-mounted device (HMD), customized software package, hardware devices, data management portal were employed facilitate seamless expert delivery, sharing, ensure privacy confidentiality. ARMED platform evaluated three partner with parameters internet connection stability, clarity live-streaming audio-visual communication, quality photos, safety management. Results combination RealWear Navigator 500 HMD, version videoconferencing software, server system safe secure patient constituted robust, user-friendly, practical telemedicine solution. Since 2019, our institute at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf has been part an interdisciplinary team for teledermatology support in German prisons as alternative to extramural transports patients. Objective This study aims analyze benefits limitations patients with limited access medical specialties. Methods We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional analysis 651 teleconsultations from February 2020 April 2023. All cases were performed store-and-forward (asynchronous mode) optional hybrid live (synchronous) consultation patient or in-house staff. Results The main this case processing was avoidance external transport. Of teleconsultations, 608 (93.4%) could be finalized telemedical 43 (6.6%) required additional workup, including verifications type tumors (n=22, 51%), which needed biopsies, open that inflammatory (n=11, 26%) involved infectious skin conditions (n=5, 12%). Digital imaging lesions improved experience personnel but remained challenge, photo quality depending on technical devices available broadband supply. Conclusions Hybrid represents effective resource-saving method providing specialized care situations video experts exchange knowledge about presented opened opportunity train intramural colleagues. Abstract Background During the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine services represented a widely implemented alternative to in-person doctor and therapist appointments. Consequently, rates of use rapidly increased worldwide, also in Germany. Research regarding longitudinal determinants is needed, particularly from nationally representative German samples, improve understanding behavior major target groups such as middle-aged older adults. Objective This study aimed longitudinally investigate online health consultation among individuals during pandemic Methods Nationally data adults (≥46 years old) were taken Ageing Survey (DEAS). Data Compact (conducted between June July 2020) wave 7 November 2020 March 2021) DEAS observed (pooled analytic sample N=5456). Having experienced consultations with doctors or therapists on platforms served outcome measure. Associations socioeconomic, health- behavior–related, psychological, COVID-19–related tested using random effects logistic regressions. Results In our sample, 49% (2673/5456) participants female mean age was 67.8 (SD 9.4) years. Past experience reported by 10.3% (561/5456) sample. Online associated high education (OR 1.43, 95% CI 1.06‐1.93; P =.02), poor self-rated 0.60, 0.49‐0.75; <.001), higher frequency physical activity (reference: low frequency; medium frequency: OR 1.58, 1.15‐2.17; =.005; 1.73, 1.09‐2.76; =.02).
