Despite the many challenges faced by sudden adaptation of teaching-learning processes during emergency remote teaching (ERT) imposed COVID-19 pandemic, this period allowed exploration innovative educational methods. Here, we report description and evaluation a didactic activity designed to foster an active learning environment among Veterinary Medicine undergraduate students enrolling in Microbiology classes ERT at University Minas Gerais. The consisted initial expositive classes, followed students' search for information, execution short comics covering topic. was evaluated voluntary postquestionnaire. results suggest that had good emotional perception toward task, they noticed elaboration as most valuable tool aiding retention microbiological concepts. We conclude proposed strategy, specially incorporation comics, helped meaningful microbiology.
