Conducting high-quality research on current problems in the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation requires involvement of scientists capable conducting independently, universities with an appropriate laboratory, etc. Various resources are considered, including foreign, to fulfill it. One options their cooperation is partnership various forms provided by Innovation. However, types partnerships have evolved, changed improved since 1984 present. The purpose of the article is to provide insights into current state sustainability efforts within Polish higher education. It systematically assesses how universities are integrating SDGs their strategy frameworks, providing a critical understanding progress in aligning with global objectives. In today's dynamic and competitive environment, universities play a key role in generating, transmitting, applying knowledge innovation. The growing interest evaluating university performance at national international levels has led to developing maturity models as effective assessment tools. This article aims present various approaches modelling maturity. A bibliometric analysis was based on publications the Web of Science Scopus databases. research query included TITLE-ABS-KEY ("maturity model" universit*) for TS = Sciences database. total 123 publication records were analysed. Materials published between 1994 2024 English examined. selected final analysis. Based literature review, factors that may influence across nine areas identified. theoretical University Maturity Model (UMM) is also presented, which should undergo expert evaluation subsequent stages. Findings suggest application can significantly enhance universities' management operational efficiency, offering valuable insights policymakers formulating educational policies.
