Pesticides are chemicals used to eliminate pests and increase crop yield, as well control parasites in livestock. Their widespread use over the past two eras has led increased agricultural yields but also caused environmental issues. These can reduce quality of environment, impact vital ecosystem functions by decreasing species diversity, altering food pathways, affecting energy patterns nutrient cycling. affect living organisms various ways. Amphibians, which have semi-permeable skin lay eggs water, particularly susceptible pesticides during breeding foraging. Birds be affected continuous pesticide use. Ponds with standing water may recover more slowly from compared flowing bodies. Livestock exposed through contaminated fodder or detrimental effects. Heavy treatment soil beneficial microorganisms alter chemical structure plants. Pesticide poisoning causes approximately one million global deaths chronic disorders humans each year. The harms insect pollinators directly indirectly reduction appropriate pollinator communities, leading damage. To contamination, it is important minimize explore alternative methods pest control.

Along with serving as drug delivery sensors and flexible devices, hydrogels are playing pioneering roles in water purification. Both chemical radiation methods can produce hydrogels, the latter method gaining preference for its pure adducts. The treatment process entails removal of heavy toxic metals (above threshold amount), dyes, solid wastes from industrial effluents, seawater, groundwater, well sterilization microorganism destruction. This review analyzed different types produced by applying various radiations treatment. Particularly, we examined created through application varying levels gamma electron beam gun Co-60 sources. Abstract This study was carried out to determine the current state of physicochemical water quality parameters and effects urbanization over 50 years in peripheral rivers by using primary secondary data adjacent Dhaka city. These waterways had DO levels much below recommended standard Bangladesh, occasionally, they even approached 0. suggests that these is highly polluted unfit for aquatic life. For most part, high rates pollution also contribute BOD readings. Besides, weighted arithmetic method discovered urban have deficient quality, which requires immediate attention. Compared seasonal variations, worse dry season compared wet season. Among all rivers, lowest WQI found 11.89 123.65 Moreover, Heavy Metal Pollution Index (HPI) calculation done, with from 1 3797 indicating heavy metal sets are unsuitable drinking household uses. The built‐up areas grown 288%, bodies declined 60% last 30 years. shows river city hinders objectives SDG 6 Goal: Clean Water Sanitation. Revitalizing supply attention authorities. Practitioner Points Rapid has made one least habitable cities, industrial growth contributing significantly pollution. far than Bangladesh's standards, sometimes approaching zero, making reveals a decline especially during season, indicates extremely low standards. Built‐up increased while decreased past

In order to develop a novel and cost-effective adsorbent with outstanding adsorption capacity excellent recyclability for anionic pollutants, the chitosan-modified cetyltrimethylammonium bromide sorbent (CS@CTAB) was fabricated. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm, elemental analysis, Thermogravimetric X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy have been applied evaluate both raw surfactant modified chitosan (CS@CTAB). Azorubine, Sunset Yellow, hexavalent chromium were used study behavior of CS@CTAB under various parameters such as dose, initial dye metal ion concentration, contact time, temperature. Adsorption equilibrium, kinetics models thermodynamic investigated. The isotherm fitted well Langmuir model, maximum 492.6 mg/g, 490.196 mg/g Hexavalent Chromium, respectively. kinetic studies showed that pseudo-second-order model provided better correlation between experimental data. Furthermore, calculated confirmed Cr(VI), E110, E122 by material is spontaneous exothermic process. fabricated employed efficient elimination from real water samples, synthetic mixtures, colored soft drinks, percentage recovery ~ 96%. plausible mechanisms on surface are elucidated. anticipated be due electrostatic interaction hydrogen bond formation chromium; while Azorubine assumed interaction, bonding, n-π interaction. While the inclusion of synthetic polymers such as primary microplastics within personal care products have been widely restricted under EU/UK Law, water-soluble (WSPs) so far slipped net global chemical regulation despite evidence that these could be polluting wastewater effluents at concentrations greatly exceeding those microplastics. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) represent WSPs with common industry household uses, down-the-drain disposal a direct route to treatment plants, conveying high risk environmental leaching into freshwater ecosystems. The current study is first investigating impacts predicted on life-history traits two species also constituting disease model (fish - Poecilia reticulata parasite Gyrodactylus turnbulli). Single effects fish well their interactive infection ectoparasite were determined over 45-day exposure. Generally, reduced growth increased routine metabolic rate implying depleted energetic budget, however dose, exposure time polymer dependent. Parasitic alone caused significant reduction in enhanced rate. In contrast, non-additive effect was evident experiencing simultaneous WSP exposure, suggesting protective for exposed metazoan ectoparasite. Off-host survival significantly lowered by both WSPs; however, counts infected not different from control, more complex mechanisms may underpin this stressor interaction. Distinct detrimental inflicted organisms causing disruption interspecies interactions Additionally, results contribute sustainable development industry, we conclude PVA represents less harmful alternative PVP.

It is well recognized that COVID-19 lockdowns impacted human interactions with natural ecosystems. One example recreational fishing, which, in developed countries, involves approximately 10% of people. Fishing licence sales and observations at angling locations suggest fishing effort increased substantially during lockdowns. However, the extent duration this increase remain largely unknown. We used four years (2018-2021) high-resolution data from a personal fish-finder device to explore impact on European countries. show relative use 1.2-3.8-fold March-May 2020 generally remained elevated even end 2021. first lockdown also became more frequent weekdays. Statistical models explained 50-70% variation, suggesting were relatively consistent predictable through space time. Our study demonstrates behaviour can change rapidly response societal shifts, profound ecological, well-being economic implications. potential angler devices smartphone applications for analysis encourage extensive science industry collaborations take advantage information.

Pollution of water resources results in the degradation aquatic ecosystems and poses a threat to global Blue Economy. Water pollutants, especially source like oceans, seas, rivers, lakes where aquaculture is prevalent, can lead species alterations, reduced food quality, decreased tourism opportunities coastal areas, employment sector, declining incomes. This study aims capture impact municipal wastewater carbon dioxide on income Türkiye between 1994 2022 using ARDL approach. It examines relationship discharged into lakes, generated from resources, with objective guiding Economy policy actions. The long-term estimates indicate that (i) by municipalities (ii) have adverse effects derived resources. In forecast, expected cause supply shortages due increasing pollution seas while short term, it affects lakes. findings also suggest decrease product quantities sources. Based these results, recommends changes policies addressing factors disrupt ecosystem, suggests develop new methods combat discharge.
