Background/Objectives: Marine organisms, including shrimps, have gained research interest due to containing an abundance of bioactive lipid molecules. This study evaluated the composition and in vitro biological activities amphiphilic compounds from four different wild shrimp species: Litopenaeus vannamei, Penaeus kerathurus, Aristaeomorpha foliacea, Parapenaeus longirostris. Methods: Total (TL) extracts were obtained separated into total (TAC) lipophilic (TLC) compounds. Phenolic (TPC) carotenoid (TCC) contents, antioxidant (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP assays), effects on platelet-activating factor (PAF) ADP-induced platelet activation evaluated. Structural analyses performed using ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, while LC-MS was used elucidate fatty acid overall structure polar lipids (PLs) present TAC extracts. Results: extracts, rich phenolics, carotenoids, PL, unsaturated acids (UFAs), exhibited stronger anti-inflammatory antithrombotic compared with TLC which showed potent capacity. Significant amounts UFAs, such as monounsaturated (MUFA) oleic (C18:1n9) omega-3 (n3) polyunsaturated (PUFAs) like eicosapentaenoic (EPA; C20:5n3) docosahexaenoic (DHA; C22:6n3), detected PLs favorable values for their n6/n3 PUFA ratio. Shrimp bioactives provide against PAF pathway ADP eicosanoid pathways. Conclusions: The findings support further use anti-inflammatory, anti-thrombotic, ingredients produce new bio-functional health-promoting products, context sustainable development circular economy.

The anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic and antioxidant effects of extracts from both apple juice by-products (apple pomace) organic cultured Greek Starking apples were evaluated in vitro. All separated their total amphiphilic compounds (TACs) lipophilic (TLCs) assessed for phenolic content (TPC), carotenoid (TCC) activities (by the DPPH, ABTS FRAP assays), as well anti-inflammatory potency against thrombo-inflammatory mediator, platelet activating factor (PAF) a standard platelet-agonist (ADP) human platelets. rich-in-TAC showed much higher phenolics carotenoids than TLC extracts, which was also reflected by stronger capacities observed TAC. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy revealed presence not only but polar lipids (PLs) TAC, structural analysis with LC–MS further fatty acid composition favorable unsaturated acids (UFAs) versus saturated ones (SFAs). such bioactive PLs that are rich UFA within TAC pomace provide an explanation potent properties these mainly inflammatory pathway PAF aggregation induced ADP. Overall, results support antioxidant, potential especially by-products, can be utilized sustainable ingredients several functional products circular economy design.

Fungi play a fundamental role in the marine environment, being promising producers of bioactive molecules pharmacological and industrial fields, which have demonstrated potential health benefits against cardiovascular other chronic diseases. This review pertains to analysis lipid compositions across various species fungi their constantly discovered substances, as well anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antithrombotic effects. The health-promoting aspects these microorganisms will be explored, through investigation several mechanisms action interference bioactives biochemical pathways. Despite exceptional results this field, remains largely unexplored due limited number specialists microbiology mycology, relatively recent science with significant contributions biodiversity biotechnology.

In recent years, nanoscience and nanotechnology have gained prominence within materials science, offering new opportunities for cancer diagnosis treatment. Advances in allowed the manipulation size control of nanomaterials, leading to development a wide range materials. The use nanomaterials as chemical biology tools theranostics has been widely investigated, owing their enhanced stability, biocompatibility, improved cell permeability. These properties enable precise targeting while addressing limitations conventional treatments. Nanoflowers, specific class recently attracted significant interest due promising several biomedical applications. However, despite growing attention toward nanoflowers, detailed reviews on subject limited. This work focuses two primary types hybrid nanoflowers: iron- copper-based ones. Within this article an overview applications are thoroughly reviewed, synthesis processes controlling morphology size, underlying functions, characteristics uses also extensively explored, aiming provide guide future developments field.
