This experiment examined how supplementation of Bovaer in dietary rations with high proportion grass-clover silage affected DMI, milk production, and gas emissions lactating dairy cows, whether the effect was uniform across parity stage lactation. Forty-eight Holstein cows (equally balanced between primiparous multiparous early mid-late lactation) were included a 4 × Latin square design, 2 factorial arrangement treatments. The first factor different sources silage, spring growth or regrowth, which differed nutritional quality. second levels (0 60 mg 3-NOP/kg DM). DMI not by source but reduced 1.1 kg/d (5% reduction) supplementation. ECM yield decreased 0.8 (2.2% reduction), there tendency for this reduction to be larger lactation than (-1.1 vs. -0.3 kg/d). Independent CH4 production (g/d), (g/kg DMI), intensity ECM) 33.0%, 28.1% 31.3%, respectively. In conclusion, effective reducing negative associated effects on yield. indicated that due may

This study, conducted on a commercial dairy farm using robotic milking system in Victoria, Australia, examined the effects of Polygain™ (The Product Makers Australia), polyphenol-rich sugarcane feed material (PRSFM), CH4 emissions grazing cattle an inverse-dispersion model (IDM) combined with open-path laser techniques. Thirty lactating Holstein Friesian cows (aged 2-5 years average body weight 663 kg and daily milk production 28.9 kg) were divided into two dietary treatment groups fifteen each. Before measurement, PRSFM (0.25%) was supplemented for 3 weeks as adaptation period mixed pellet group. Over 2-week measurement period, (MP) 495 ± 12 377 (mean standard error) g CH4/animal/day control groups, respectively. Methane intensity (MI) 17.04 13.01 CH4/animal/kg milk/day On average, Polygain supplementation reduced MP MI by 24%. potential reduction extrapolated across Australia contributes to 2.63% national agricultural emissions. study underscores mitigation cattle.

This meta-analysis systematically evaluates the efficacy of dietary interventions for mitigating enteric methane production in ruminants through application advanced statistical methodologies. A comprehensive dataset comprising 119 peer-reviewed publications (2000–2024) was analyzed using robust variance estimation, multilevel modeling, and network to quantify intervention identify moderating factors while properly accounting within-study dependencies. The results demonstrate a clear hierarchy macroalgae (51.0% reduction [95% CI: 37.0–63.0%]), 3-nitrooxypropanol (3-NOP; 30.6% 22.0–45.0%]), nitrate (16.0% 6.0–26.0%]), oils (14.7% 5.0–24.0%]), phytochemicals (13.5% 4.0–22.0%]). meta-regression analyses identified significant dose–response relationships (coefficient = −0.212, p < 0.001), 3-NOP −0.002, −0.045, 0.004), −0.031, 0.008), with animal type significantly across interventions. temporal trend analysis revealed improvements macroalgae, nitrate, (p 0.05). examination combinations synergistic effects tannin + (ratio 1.25) 1.12) combinations. integration data implementation demonstrated substantial variation practical viability, 3-NOP, oils, demonstrating most favorable profiles despite macroalgae’s superior efficacy. synthesis provides quantitative foundation developing targeted mitigation strategies diverse ruminant systems.
