Background Silver nanoparticles (Ag/Ag₂O NPs) have garnered attention for their potent antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties, showing promise therapeutic applications, particularly in mitigating chemical-induced toxicity. Objective This study aimed to synthesize Ag/Ag₂O NPs using Olea europaea (olive) leaf extract as a green, eco-friendly reducing agent evaluate protective effects against metribuzin-induced toxicity Wistar rats, focusing on oxidative stress, hematological parameters, lipid profiles, with specific dose optimization. Methodology were synthesized extract, properties confirmed via XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDS, UV-visible spectroscopy. rats exposed metribuzin (110 mg/kg/day) treated two doses of (0.062 mg/kg 0.125 mg/kg). Hematological biochemical markers assessed the NPs’ effects. Results Physicochemical characterization successful formation loaded phytochemicals, exhibiting crystallite sizes 23 nm 19 nm, particle size 25 significant peaks UV-Vis spectra indicating Ag/Ag₂O. Metribuzin exposure led disruptions (elevated WBC, reduced RBC hemoglobin) worsened profiles (increased cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides). The lower NP mg/kg) improved RBC, hemoglobin, platelet counts, normalized levels, positively influenced such serum creatinine uric acid. In contrast, higher (0.125 showed mixed results, some improvements but an increase triglycerides continued elevation ASAT ALAT enzyme levels. Conclusion green methods olive effectively mitigated toxicity, especially at doses, by improving stress profiles. Dose optimization is crucial maximize benefits minimize adverse effects, underscoring potential treating

Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) is a clinical-pathological scenario that occurs due to the accumulation of triglycerides in hepatocytes which considered significant cause liver conditions and contributes an increased risk death worldwide. Even though possible causes MAFLD can involve interaction genetics, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle (diet sedentary lifestyle) most influential factor developing this condition. Polyphenols comprise many natural chemical compounds be helpful managing metabolic diseases. Therefore, aim review was investigate impact oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, role polyphenols MAFLD. Some reverse part damage related or among them are anthocyanin, baicalin, catechin, curcumin, chlorogenic acid, didymin, epigallocatechin-3-gallate, luteolin, mangiferin, puerarin, punicalagin, resveratrol, silymarin. These have actions reducing plasma enzymes, body mass index, waist circumference, adipose visceral indices, lipids, glycated hemoglobin, insulin resistance, HOMA index. They also reduce nuclear factor-KB (NF-KB), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), blood pressure, fat content, steatosis fibrosis. On other hand, they improve HDL-c, adiponectin levels, fibrogenesis markers. results show promising prevention treatment

The genus Helianthemum, commonly known as rockroses, encompasses 140 species primarily distributed in the Palearctic region, with notable diversification driven by climatic and geological changes. These plants are valuable for studying speciation processes ecological divergence. chemical properties of leaves have also been investigated containing bioactive compounds several therapeutic properties. However, availability genomic resources this almost entirely lacking. Here, we assembled annotated first reference transcriptome Helianthemum marifolium, a wide morphological variability infraspecific diversity. Illumina paired-end RNA sequences were generated using from 16 individuals, representing four recognized subspecies, all cultivated greenhouse. reads Trinity Oases, EvidentialGene produced 122,002 transcripts. showed 59524 hits on UniProtBK database through BLASTx. This will be an invaluable resource transcriptome-level population studies, conservation genetics many endangered within genus, deepen into metabolic pathways leaf-derived compounds.

This study investigates the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using Helianthemum lippii extract and evaluates their photoprotective, anti-hemolytic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties compared to various fractions, including total aqueous (AE), flavonoid monoglycosides (FMG), diglycosides/triglycosides (FDG/FTG), tannins (TN), anthocyanins (AC). is rich in bioactive compounds such as caffeic acid, p-coumaric gallic known for therapeutic potential. aims determine whether embedding these phytochemicals into Ag NPs enhances biomedical applications natural fractions. were synthesized through a green approach, physicochemical properties, size morphology, characterized. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used identify key Biological assays conducted assess photoprotective efficacy (sun protection factor, SPF), antibacterial activity (minimum inhibitory concentration, MIC), potential (percentage inhibition), hemolytic with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) serving control. HPLC analysis confirmed presence compounds, AE extract. The spherical an average diameter 35 nm had adsorbed on surface. AC fraction demonstrated highest SPF (28.27), followed by TN (27.99), (23.20), (22.50), while FMG exhibited moderate (19.39) commercial sunscreen Avene® (40.00). superior MIC values 0.2 mg/mL against Pseudomonas aeruginosa 0.4 Bacillus subtilis, outperforming AE, which 2.81 mg/mL. Anti-inflammatory showed that achieved 79.8% inhibition at 400 μg/mL, surpassing (71.75%) (67.9%), comparable diclofenac (72.63%). Hemolysis revealed induced only 1.35% hemolysis, lower than (1.91%) significantly below SDS (90.48%). findings demonstrate lippii-derived exhibit enhanced anti-inflammatory, anti-hemolytic While slightly multifunctional bioactivities underscore applications. integration efficacy, making them promising candidates advanced pharmaceutical formulations topical protective agents.

ABSTRACT The study explored the efficacy of Salvia chudaei ethanolic extract in managing hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, and oxidative stress induced by Triton X‐100 Wistar rats. Twenty‐four rats were divided into four groups: Control, S. ‐treated, Triton‐induced hyperlipidemic, a combination + treatment. raised serum levels total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) while lowering high‐density (HDL) leading to marked increased malondialdehyde (MDA) reduced antioxidant activity liver kidney tissues. Administration effectively reversed these adverse effects, significantly LDL levels, improving HDL cholesterol. It also enhanced defenses markers, demonstrating its protective role against metabolic dysfunction. High‐performance liquid chromatography analysis confirmed presence bioactive compounds that contribute benefits. findings suggest possesses strong antihyperlipidemic, antihyperglycemic, properties, making it promising natural agent for preventing treating hyperlipidemia stress. This positions as potential new therapeutic approach management disorders.
