Objective There is some evidence for an association between gut microbiota and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), alcoholic (ALD), viral hepatitis, but no studies have explored their causal relationship. Methods Instrumental variables of the (N = 13266) microbiota-derived metabolites 7824) were acquired, a Mendelian randomization study was performed to explore influence on NAFLD (1483 European cases 17,781 controls), ALD (2513 332,951 hepatitis risk (1971 340,528 controls). The main method examining causality inverse variance weighting (IVW). Results IVW results confirmed that Anaerotruncus ( p 0.0249), Intestinimonas 0.0237), Lachnoclostridium 0.0245), Lachnospiraceae NC2004 group 0.0083), Olsenella 0.0163), Peptococcus 0.0472) protective factors NAFLD, Ruminococcus 1 0.0120) detrimental NAFLD. higher abundance three genera, Lachnospira 0.0388), Desulfovibrio 0.0252), torques 0.0364), correlated with lower ALD, while Ruminococcaceae UCG 002 level associated 0.0371). Ensuring companion animal welfare is a top priority for the pet industry and owners alike. The health of pets can be directly effectively improved through diet. Chenpi includes beneficial ingredients with proven anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immunomodulatory properties. present investigation involved feeding snacks infused powder (CPP) to dogs 42 days examine potential benefits CPP. research evidenced notable increase in serum superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity dogs, accompanied by decrease malondialdehyde (MDA), interleukin-8 (IL-8), interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) level. Additionally, CPP increased fecal scores significantly reduced odors due inhibition 3-methylindole, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), ammonia nitrogen (NH4 +-N), also raised levels secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA). Analysis microbial composition via 16S rRNA sequencing showed that Bacteroidota decreased Firmicutes gut flora at phylum Functional prediction study communities group enriched metabolic genetic information processing pathways. In addition, there were significant correlations between indicators several altered microorganisms. These findings suggest potentially enhance overall reducing odorants, enhancing antioxidant immunological capabilities, modulating intestinal flora. This establishes solid scientific foundation regarding application functional foods.

Abstract To prepare functional yacon juice, this study investigates the optimal fermentation duration, shelf‐life, chemical composition, and flavor volatiles of juice fermented by Lactiplantibacillus plantarum QS7T capable utilizing fructo‐oligosaccharides (FOS), along with its effects on gut microbiota. The period was determined as 30 h, resulting in essential parameters: 3.46 g L −1 for total acids a viable lactic acid bacteria (LAB) count 2.3 × 10 8 CFU mL . predicted shelf life when stored at 4°C is 28 days. Throughout storage, maintained significant FOS LAB (8.0 7 ). Total short‐chain fatty significantly increased post‐fermentation reaching 177.86 µg content types volatile components after L. increased, thus altering improving juice's appeal. Functional also induced alterations microbiota structure abundance mice, including increasing beneficial microbes such Firmicutes, Actinobacteriota, Faecalibaculum, Dubosiella, Bifidobacterium, Akkermansia These results indicate potential food modulation anti‐inflammatory benefits.

The potential of microbial-derived antioxidants to modulate intestinal inflammation is increasingly recognized, which especially important in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Oxidative stress, a major contributor chronic inflammation, the result an imbalance between production reactive oxygen species (ROS) and body's antioxidant defenses. This systematic review explores role alleviating IBD. Among main findings are certain compounds, such as exopolysaccharides (EPS) short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), have demonstrated their ability neutralize ROS strengthen integrity barrier, thereby attenuating responses. These offer dual benefit mitigating oxidative stress rebalancing gut microbiota, often disrupted Evidence from preclinical clinical studies provides better understanding mechanisms involved effects these microbial antioxidants. Conventional treatments for IBD primarily focus on immune modulation. In this context, integration could complementary approach by addressing both damage dysbiosis. Further research trials essential establish standardized treatment guidelines clarify long-term efficacy promising therapeutic agents.

Linarin is a natural flavonoid compound found in Chrysanthemum indicum, Mentha species and other plants with various biological activities. The study aimed to investigate the protective effect of linarin supplementation on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis C57BL/6J mice its potential mechanisms. results showed that doses at 25 50 mg kg-1 day-1 alleviated DSS-induced histopathological damage, improved mucosal layer intestinal barrier function. Importantly, significantly suppressed levels myeloperoxidase activity pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, IFN-γ IL-1β) colon, enhanced mRNA level anti-inflammatory cytokine (IL-10). Moreover, reversed gut microbiota damaged by DSS, including Alistipes, Rikenella Clostridia UCG-014_norank. also partly increased relative abundance short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs)-producing bacteria, Lactobacillus, Roseburia, Parabacteroides Blautia, elevated contents SCFAs. Collectively, attenuates mice, suggesting may be promising nutritional strategy for reducing inflammatory bowel disease.

Plant-derived extracellular vesicles are functional nanovesicles that have significant applications in both disease prevention and treatment, as well for use drug carriers. Momordica charantia is a widely consumed food has medicinal nutritional properties shown intervention diabetes inflammation caused by oxidative damage. In this study, charantia-derived (MCEVs) were extracted demonstrated to excellent antioxidant activity characterization, lipid composition analysis, protein domain vitro measurement. addition, vivo studies indicated the MCEVs could restore ulcerative colitis regulating oxidation inflammatory factors. Therefore, of may be important protecting colon from inflammation, which provides new insights into application drugs or vectors colitis.
