Abstract Helicobacter pylori ( H. ) infects approximately half of the population worldwide and causes chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, gastric cancer. Test-and-treat strategies have been recommended for prevention -associated diseases. Advancements in high-throughput sequencing technologies broadened our understanding complex gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota its role maintaining host homeostasis. Recently, an increasing number studies indicated that colonization induces dramatic alterations microbiota, with a predominance reduction microbial diversity. Dysbiosis gut microbiome has also observed after infection, which may play development colorectal However, there is concern regarding impact antibiotics on during eradication. In this review, we summarize current literature concerning how infection reshapes GI underlying mechanisms, including changes environment, immune responses, persistent inflammation. Additionally, impacts eradication homeostasis use probiotics as adjuvant therapy are discussed. The shifts their crosstalk provide potential targets -related diseases extragastric manifestations.

Helicobacter pylori has been implicated in various gastrointestinal disorders, including functional dyspepsia. This study aimed to compare the anti-H. activity and gastroprotective effects of three typical herbal formulas used for disorders Korea: Shihosogan-tang (ST), Yijung-tang (YT), Pyeongwi-san (PS). Firstly, we assessed total phenolic flavonoid contents, as well antioxidative capacity. Additionally, evaluated antibacterial effect on H. using an ammonia assay, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test, disk agar diffusion method. Furthermore, examined alterations gene expression tight junction proteins, pro-inflammatory cytokines, cellular vacuolation AGS cell model infected with pylori. While ST exhibited a higher content, superior free radical scavenging, inhibition compared YT PS, more evidently inhibited gastric morphological changes such vacuolation. All formulations significantly ameliorated inflammatory inflammation-related genes induced by infection. Overall, present vitro suggests that all possess potential ameliorating relatively excelling inhibiting infection inflammation, while potentially shows greater efficacy directly protecting mucosa.
