Background Overweight and obesity, high blood pressure, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance (IR) are strongly associated with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer. Different surrogate indices of IR derived validated the euglycemic–hyperinsulinemic clamp (EHC) test. Thus, using a computational approach to predict Matsuda index as reference, this study aimed determine optimal cutoff value diagnosis accuracy for in non-diabetic young adult men. Methods A cross-sectional descriptive was carried out 93 men (ages 18–31). Serum levels glucose were analyzed fasting state during an oral tolerance test (OGTT). Additionally, clinical, biochemical, hormonal, anthropometric characteristics body composition (DEXA) determined. The evaluate diagnostic difference parameters examined, well other statistical tools make output robust. Results highest sensitivity specificity at value, respectively, established Homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR) (0.91; 0.98; 3.40), Quantitative check (QUICKI) (0.98; 0.96; 0.33), triglyceride-glucose (TyG)-waist circumference (TyG-WC) (1.00; 1.00; 427.77), TyG-body mass (TyG-BMI) 132.44), TyG-waist-to-height ratio (TyG-WHtR) 2.48), waist-to-height (WHtR) 0.53), waist (WC) 92.63), (BMI) 28.69), total fat percentage (TFM) (%) 31.07), android (AF) 40.33), lipid accumulation product (LAP) (0.84; 45.49), leptin 16.08), leptin/adiponectin (LAR) 1.17), 16.01). The replacement of muscle tissue with fat plays the leading role in development sarcopenia against background weakening function. Normally, distribution adipose body has gender differences. redistribution deposits is noted age under influence sex hormones: from neonatal period, changes prepubertal and pubertal age, to premenopausal climacteric periods. Racial genetic characteristics also affect excess deposition visceral subcutaneous fat. This literature review covers aspects regulation aspects, variants pathological deposition, possible health effects. Particular attention paid metabolism, gene ERS1 (rs2175898), BDNF (rs6265), LEPR (rs1137101), FTO (rs9939609), AGT (rs4762 rs699), FABP2 (rs179988), only PPARG Pro/Pro locus were found be associated obesity. We discuss herein ways modification human food stimulation, physical exercise intestinal microbiome. These same are characteristic for preventing both elderly young people secondary sarcopenia.

Abstract This review thoroughly explores the multifaceted roles of sexual hormones, emphasizing their impact beyond reproductive functions and underscoring significant influence on cardiometabolic regulation. It analyzes broader physiological implications estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, highlighting effects metabolic syndrome, lipid metabolism, glucose homeostasis, cardiovascular health. Drawing from diverse molecular, clinical, therapeutic studies, paper delves into intricate interplay between these hormones processes. By presenting a comprehensive analysis that goes traditional perspectives, recognizing as more than agents, sheds light significance in health disease management, advocating for holistic personalized medical approaches.

Abstract STUDY QUESTION What is the association between reproductive health history (e.g. age at menarche, menopause, lifespan) with abdominal adiposity in postmenopausal women? SUMMARY ANSWER Higher visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and subcutaneous (SAT) levels were observed among women earlier greater parity. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY Postmenopausal are predisposed to accumulation of VAT SAT. Reproductive variables known predictors overall obesity status women, defined by BMI. DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION This study a secondary analysis data collected from baseline visit Women’s Health Initiative (WHI). The WHI large prospective including both randomized trial observational study. There 10 184 included this analysis. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS Data questionnaire, dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry scans, anthropometric measures baseline. was measured via self-report, related pregnancy, menopause. lifespan calculated as menopause minus menarche. Statistical analyses descriptive multivariable linear regression models examine VAT, SAT, total body fat, MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE Women who reported early menarche (<10 years) or (<40 had highest VAT. Adjusted results demonstrate experienced >15 years 23 cm2 less (95% CI: −31.4, −14.4) 47 SAT −61.8, −33.4) than earlier. A similar pattern for menopause: compared <40 years, 50–55 associated 19.3 −25.4, −13.3) 27.4 (−29.6, 10.3) High parity (>3 pregnancies) also For example, adjusted beta coefficients 8.36 (4.33, 12.4) 17.9 (12.6, 23.2) comparing three four pregnancies referent, one two pregnancies. Insulin is a polypeptide hormone composed of 51 amino acids and secreted by the β cells pancreatic islets Langerhans.Insulin regulates maintains healthy blood glucose levels within body, overseeing control plasma levels. In process, it stimulates to utilize available for Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis coordinates conversion into glycogen that stored away in liver partly muscle as fatty acids. On other hand, insulin resistance condition where normal sensitivity impaired cannot respond stimulation insulin. When pancreas produces or even elevated amounts insulin, body's response poor. While body can adjust functioning and/or being produced, often result called diabetes mellitus, group diseases affect way levels.Diabetes mellitus characterized chronic hyperglycemia.Hyperglycemia be caused many factors, one resistance.Though occurs forms affects people all genders ethnicities, this article specifically discussed peculiarity men with type 2 mellitus.Areas such abnormal secretion, syndrome, causes form its epidemiology, worldwide prevalence, global burden, gender differences resistance, management were researched. The etiology complications associated was also researched.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association central lean mass distribution with risk mortality. Methods: This cohort included 40,283 UK Biobank participants. Cox proportional hazards regression models were used estimate distribution, i.e., trunk-to-leg ratio, assessed by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, Results: median age participants 65 years, and 52% women. During a follow-up 4.18 674 died, whom 366 due cancer 126 cardiovascular causes. Compared lowest tertile multivariable-adjusted (age, sex, ethnicity, lifestyle, comorbidities, body index, appendicular muscle index) ratios highest ratio 1.55 (95% CI: 1.23–1.94), 1.69 1.26–2.26), 1.14 0.72–1.80) for all-cause, cancer, mortality, respectively. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte mediated 9.3% 3.3%–40.4%) all-cause There evidence additive interactions older poor diet quality Conclusion: Trunk-to-leg positively associated risks independent general obesity obesity, in middle-aged adults. Central may interact synergistically aging further increase death.
