Abstract Background Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) causes severe economic losses in the poultry industry worldwide. Hence, this study aimed to discover a novel bioactive antiviral agent for controlling NDV. Streptomyces misakiensis was isolated from Egyptian soil and its secondary metabolites were identified using infrared spectroscopy (IR), gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The inhibitory activity of metabolite against NDV examined. Three experimental groups 10-day-old specific pathogen-free embryonated chicken eggs (SPF-ECEs), including control group, positive α-sitosterol mixture-treated group inoculated. Results (Ethyl-6-methylheptan-2-yl]-10,13-dimethyl-dodecahydro-1H-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-ol), S. , completely inhibited hemagglutination (HA) strain. HA strain 8 log 2 9 0.5 0.75% RBCs, respectively. two concentrations RBCs significantly ( P < 0.0001) after treatment. There significant decrease activity, with values − 0.500 (75%, RBCs) before inoculation SPF-ECEs 1.161 (50%, 1.403 following SPF-ECE inoculation. Compared ECEs inoculated alone, α-sitosterol-treated showed improvement histological lesion ratings chorioallantoic membranes (CAM) hepatic tissues. CAM α-sitosterol- preserved. epithelial stromal layers noticeably thicker extensive hemorrhages, clogged vasculatures, certain inflammatory cells stroma layer group. However, mild edema cell infiltration observed treated alone normal histology acini, central veins, portal triads. Severe degenerative alterations, steatosis, sinusoids, Mild perivascular round infiltration, Conclusion To best our knowledge, is first highlight that potentially metabolite, α-sitosterol, belonging terpene family, has potential be biological weapon virulent It could used development innovative drugs further clinical investigation.

Patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) exhibit a notable prevalence of psychiatric disorders, such as anxiety and depression. Nevertheless, the etiology disorders associated IBD remains uncertain, an efficacious treatment approach has yet to be established. Herein, oral hydrogel strategy (SP@Rh-gel) is proposed for co-delivery Spirulina platensis rhein treat IBD-associated depression by modulating microbiota-gut-brain axis. SP@Rh-gel improves solubility, release characteristics intestinal retention capacity drug, leading significant improvement in therapeutic efficacy. Oral administration can reduce inflammation rebalance disrupted microbial community. Furthermore, maintains barrier integrity reduces pro-inflammatory factors their entry into hippocampus through blood-brain barrier, thereby inhibiting neuroinflammation maintaining neuroplasticity. significantly alleviates colitis symptoms, well anxiety- depression-like behaviors, chronic mouse model. This study demonstrates involvement axis development proposes safe, simple, highly efficient managing comorbid disorders.

Integrating algae into poultry diets offers a promising avenue for enhancing nutrition, boosting sustainability efforts, and potentially stimulating disease resistance. This comprehensive review delves the essence, diversity, chemical composition, nutritional merits of algae, spotlighting their emergence as innovative nutrient sources health supplements poultry. The growing interest in within nutrition stems from diverse profile, boasting rich array proteins, lipids, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, thus positioning them valuable feed constituents. A key highlight incorporating both macroalgae microalgae lies elevated protein content, with varieties like Spirulina Chlorella exhibiting levels up to 50-70%, outperforming traditional soybean meal. premium source not only furnishes vital acids crucial muscular development overall but also serves an exceptional reservoir omega-3 fatty notably eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) docosahexaenoic (DHA), presenting multiple benefits consumers alike. Moreover, boast antioxidant properties attributed bioactive compounds phycocyanin astaxanthin, mitigating oxidative stress bird's immune response, thereby fostering robust resilience. Incorporating yields positive impacts on performance metrics. Research evidence underscores enhancement growth rates, conversion ratios, carcass quality, meat attributes broilers, while layers, supplementation promotes increased egg production, superior concentrations beneficial nutrients such acids. Furthermore, hold promise environmental footprint though significant outcomes trials remain sporadic, necessitating further research elucidate optimal dosages blends different species diets. Standardizing composition utilized is imperative, paving way potential applications stimulants substitutes antibiotics. Nonetheless, deeper understanding dosage, combination, mechanism action through rigorous scientific investigation unlocking algae's full nutrition.

This work aimed to assess how different cumulative levels of Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) intake influence individual broiler meat quality parameters, nutritional value and health-related traits. The data analysed showed varying levels, ranging from 3.46 521 g/bird, with large changes in key findings indicate that significantly enhances colour, primarily due its rich carotenoid content. This study investigated the impact of Arthrospira platensis (A. platensis) as a dietary supplement on growth, carcass criteria, liver and kidney function, lipid profile, immunity growing Japanese quails. In 28-day experiment, 240 un-sexed 7-day-old quail chicks were used. The divided into four treatment sets, each comprising six replicates ten chicks. Group (1) fed basal diet with no supplements, group (2) supplemented 0.25 g A. /kg diet, (3) 0.50 (4) 1.00 diet. results this revealed that birds g. or kg−1 had superior final body weights, weight gains, feed conversion ratios, criteria compared to control, furthermore, significant (p<0.05) lower levels enzymes function markers control. Furthermore, significantly reduced cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol Dietary supplementation at 1.00g/kg increased total antioxidant capacity, immunoglobulin, lysozyme activity levels. Using 0.5 1 g/kg during quails' growth period can improve immunity.
